Dividing line between seedling and veg?

Wondering if there's a general rule of thumb where a plant is considered to be in veg as opposed to a seedling. I targeted 300 PPFD for seedling stage and 500-700 ppfd for veg. Not sure when to begin increasing light load on the plants.

Well in my opinion the first real sign of vegetative stage is fast growth and increasing water intake, so when the little seedling finally gets some roots going basically. In my experience it could take one or two weeks from germination. Your plant seems to be already focusing on growing, I would definitely go ahead and get the veg lights going

I disagree with the above statements if only to include them. I believe those are factors that lead to full vegetative growth but the real sign is the cotyledons. When they shrivel up, peel off, or fall off thats when you know the plant has switched from seedling to veg. Like losing its only baby teeth lol

Sum plants don’t loose there cotyledon leaves till the third or fourth node I disagree with the above statement since this would cause root bound plants in starter pots, agree to disagree 👍

Failing Cotyledons. Because it is a storage organ, the cotyledon is an inefficient provider for the adult plant, so it will shrivel and fall away from the plant as shade from the growing plant covers it, either because of senescence or because it is being edged out by an emerging root.
