NH had a great tutorial on coco grows.
Convinced me to give it a try on my next grow in the spring.
My biggest concern is at times I can be away for 4 to 5 days.
Will this cause issues with watering?
 
I'm on my first coco grow and I feed and every two days. As a coco newbie, I'm still learning but most of what I've read recommends daily or every other day feeding. It really is hydro with a soil look and feel. I've also read everywhere that you cannot let coco dry like soil. I think soil is probably the safest to leave for several days at a time but it really is best to have some sort of timed watering, like alltatup said.
 
My coco grows have been successful even when i let them dry out between waterings. Probably wont get the BEST possible results, but still some decent enough nugs...
 
Growing in Coco is a balance between giving the plant all the nutrients it needs and all the oxygen it needs. Without the benefit of an air stone to constantly provide oxygen, the medium will need to dry to a certain degree. In my limited experience growing in coco I have found that the plants will be much more forgiving in the vegetative state. When in flower you would want to feed them on a regular schedule. That being said the important principle to understand is that you want to feed them the right dose of nutrients at the right time. I have left my plants for up to 7 days in a tub that the plants could wick a nutrient solution from. I first feed the plants and allow them to drain all water water away. I then place them in a fresh shallow tub of nutrients solution that they will take in within 3 days. This allows me to be away from my plants for up to 7 days without depriving them of nutrients or oxygen while I am away. This approach requires that you understand how much water your plants will drink daily so you can provide just enough solution to get them halfway thru your time away.
 
Just to be clear, I don't recommend leaving your plants for more than 7 days using this method, and I always follow up by giving the plants straight ph'd water upon returning until I get 50% runoff
 
What about 30% peat 30% perlite and 40% coco. Do you think the peat would retain enough for 5 days 5 to 7 gal fabric pots and led lighting actual 400 watts 3 plants 4 X 5 room
 
Do a little research on a drain to waste system using the automatic timer and drippers as long as you have water in a reservoir you could leave for many days as you have water for. ,☮️
