Wouldn't there be nothing to clone from on an immature plant?
A guide that is used: the plant is mature when you have 4-5 nodes and 5 fingered leaves for cannabis.
At that point you have something to clone.
You're thinking of human females...as soon as they're born you know their sex and they already act mature...
They still haven't figured out when the human male reaches muturity.
Crap rwdyredhaed I didn't mean to flag you was trying to comment to your comment, anyway it very upsetting that more guys aren't thoughtful of their better half.
I think a good time to take a few clones is right before you flip the switch to flower. Unless you are growing it as a mother plant and never send to flower.
