Good question_ I do know that when I remove the chlorine from our water that it tastes a lot better, cleaner. So maybe it could affect the taste of your bud?
The chlorine may also inhibit the development of microbes (or maybe just plain kill them). The microbes help your plants to assimilate nutrients so that might affect the taste as well.
There are lots of people who use plain tap water with a PH of 6.5-7.5 and don't have any problems. I flush the chlorine from my tap water by filling a10 gallon bucket with water and letting it sit for a day or two with an old water stone in the bottom forcing air through the water so the chlorine dissipates faster.Try that if you think it might work for you.I do this from day one so I have nothing to go on as far as doing that during the harvest flush only, sorry.
Oh yeah_ and I also supplement the carbs by adding molasses as suggested in the GWE tutorials.
Carbs are good for development and taste_ and hopefully will make your buds bigger and fatter. I try to avoid eating too many of them but the energy they provide is good for your plants and they don't develop any health issues like our species do if they eat too many! :~)

Thanks for the response Zig Zag,The controversy is the lack of minerals in filtered water cause nutrient deficiencies while tap water kills good bacteria ?So what would be the way to go?And water is so important,you would think they could have sorted it out by now! Every one says something different.
I think the best water to use for your situation depends a lot on your water source. Some people have terrible water so they basically need filtered water. Other people have neutral to pretty good water and that can be a great choice since it contains minerals your plant may use. With heavily filtered water you may need to to add extra Calcium/Magnesium/Iron to prevent deficiencies.

I use my tap water, which is quite soft, and when I change my reservoir I add Hydroguard. Then I add it again in 24 hours in case the chlorine killed it all. I've had no problems so far. But that's my water where I live now; I used to live in TX where the water was so hard, it spotted everything and left permanent stains on the teeth of kids who grew up drinking it.
