Cannabis butter

thinking of making some butter with my trimmings, I know all about decarboxylation but I'm wondering about the actual butter itself.

What makes the best weed butter? I'm no whizz in the kitchen but I'm thinking a high fat content and non salted would be best?

yes...unsalted butter and a good brand of butter not cheap stuff depends on where you are. and get more than you need. If using 1lb recipe (get 1 1/2 lb and use as much trimmings as you can a BUNCH. or throw in some nugs.
have fun with it..cook slow & low.

Yeah we usually buy pretty good butter anyway so I'll just stick with what we usually get.

3oz of trim/popcorn is in the oven, now to pop down the road to the shop quickly to get more butter. :)

Does the butter take 1 oz to a pound and a half of butter. Now that I don't have to buy it I was wondering. It doesn't sound like a deal at 450 dollars a pound of butter.

Yes GWE is right and they do also state the quality of your plant is important
remember if you slow cook..crock pot adding water to keep temps down doesn't hurt the butter.
Since I know I will loose some of my 1 lb butter thru 12 hrs on and off cooking...I add more butter half way so I also start with over 1 0z to ish we could have a butter seminar live someplace. :).

is it noticeably better to do it for longer than the 90 minutes recommended or is that just your personal preference? Time isn't an issue for me, I can make it take as long as I like.

I used unrefined coconut oil, I read some where it was better than using butter. Ithe turned out excellent. Everytime before I used butter, also yurned out perfect. I also use a slow cooker

I got a 'chef's choice' premium cultured unsalted butter which is good for sweet cooking and baking. Perfect for what I need as I make an awesome chocolate cake.

Slowly bubbling away.

On a side note will this saucepan permanently smell like weed? Just want to know how much trouble I'll be in when my mrs gets home and sees me using her good cookware!!!
