CaliforniaKid's Dark Harvest Grow Challenge

I'm not opposed to it. Efficiency is what I'm all about, whether it's thought, time, or energy. My job is based on efficiency and it's all I know.
There have been many hardships and set backs in the challange. Not sure how I ended up, in my opinion, without anything substantial problem wise.

Go for it, make the most of your space and light

Yes a longer veg will definitely be worth the wait. If you are relying on this to be a good crop then by all means veg them out longer. No one here is gonna fault you for doing what you need to do for you. Sounds like a smart plan to me

Unfortunately I don't believe I can fill my footprint either by flipping on Saturday. I have to move my problem children out otherwise I would have had a great run here with the allotted time had I gotten the right seeds. My tent would be full by harvest time if they had.

My thoughts on you withdrawing; with all the problems we've had with these seeds, I wouldn't blame you. Have you taken clones? That really doesn't help if you don't have another veg area though. But it would save a couple weeks on veg time and you could squeeze in another grow. Maybe start an auto run sog style with some fast strains to load up on stuff before summer.

However I know I would benefit with a little longer veg even if it was only a week or 2. They're getting big and growth tips are getting huge but not sure what kind of stretch we're in for since its a hybrid. But I feel I can control the height if I were given the opportunity for longer veg.

Ultimately the decision is yours 🍻 ✌

You haven`t got agro coming from your wife, she seems really nice & supportive so it`s a time issue, if you extend or add another grow the timescale isn`t going to vary that much between the two. I`d extend personally as I think longer vegging can really help sometimes with better yields, thicker stems, etc. End of day though, go with your gut mate, If you don`t you`ll be uneasy inside yourself.

My gc is getting big an ready to flip, but my dgth is just starting to spread out and could deffenitly use another week are so.. i believe i worst i will flip gc on time an hold off on mutt dgth just a week.. I'm inn on waiting another week.

I don't see any harm in going another week in veg. With the problems some had starting off, you would think we all wouldn't mind a little more time. I'm all for it so my opinion won't change. I don't know what happened to DankwingDuck thought he was in on the challenge. Campesino is busy and his new site is up, we can probably find him there or on ig/fb 😉. And we all know ojh won't be on till early tomorrow. Are we missing anyone else that hasn't responded? I think it's already unanimous but I'll wait for others to reply.

Rearranged the furniture, took out the cfl.

Sprawled em out good.

Ever think about putting the plants in a diagonal row? I think that's what I'm going to do with mine to try and fill the footprint. Maybe somewhat of a staggered line and try to spread the canopy out to potentially maximizing my space.

C-Kid, Thanks for the tag in.
I personally wouldn't want to give a opinion about about the D.H. Grow Challenge or ethics with your involvement, do to the fact I'm not a participant only a spectator. I do know it's a bunch of great grows and I am enjoy tooling around the threats, I think it will working out and us spectators will still enjoy what ever show you give us..
What I will weigh in on this veg time, I personally go 8 to 10 weeks this gives the plant(and me) time to recover from any manipulation, transplanting or problems that may happen, gives them a nice fat Base and I find a bigger, stronger plant at the end of the line then with a 6 week veg. If my plants fill the space and I have reached my max with it set how I like, I will flip sooner but I am kinda known to cut, bend, break, stab, drop, hack, neglect, over-love, and throw my plants a little so the extra time gives me reasonable expectations
Good luck and Grow on.

Hey Californiakid looking good buddy. I usually start training my plants back to the center of the pot when I just lst like the top right one. I like to bend the bottom branches back to the center as well. I'm always afraid to let it go too far thinking it might tip the pot when it dries out 😆. Nice structuring on the other 2 😉. I'm about to turn mine back to the center now she doesn't have very thick stems so I can push her back to center pretty easy. 🍻 ✌

kingfish doesn't top his plants and ends up with some nice bushes with nice structuring. shotgun980 I have one in my shop grow now that wasn't topped either but the canopy is all even. Breaking the main cola dominance is key to getting more colas from not topping 😉.

The escapee is one I didn't top. I'll put ratchet pulleys on her if I have to 😁. This grow needs to wow me. The last run with autos was ok. I trained way too late. Hurt my yield. But if I let this canopy fill out hopefully I will have to break down and buy new lids for my jars I've been hoarding.

Here's a picture of one I ran off the edge a bit...
Crap no pics in a comment.
