Californiakid's 1st auto journal

At first I don't succeed, I try again. Seedsman auto Hindu Kush going into a jiffy pellet after a brief soak in water.
The Northern Lights is a gonner but the slower starting diesel hasn't quit yet. As long as it keeps trying I'll keep a seat for it.

I decided to mix up some coco and perlite to get the seeds along far enough to handle going into Vermifire. I started with r.o. water added cali-magic and ph'd to 6, soaked the coco before draining. Added perlite just shy of 50/50 mix. Instead of a plastic cup I used a 1/2 pint smart pot. So here we go again !
 
That's sounds like a great plan. But in the back of my hard head it just seems to me the sooner they get their roots in the good stuff " KindSoil or Vermifire " the better ,stronger they will veg, bud and just grow better. I have seen ,I think good proof of them doing just that ,but it was growing outdoors. Good Luck my friend. P.S. did you get a chance to watch the Astros-Yankees game ? What a great game.

Well after much frustration, I bought a seed sprouter

Sure makes it easy. I have always used a plastic bottle cut in half placed over the planted seed, until recently I have had great results. But after my new hobby as a bean collector started I cannot stand the thought of not just losing a seed, but causing a slow start. Plus it really makes an easy go of it. Drop in a rapid rooter, a seed, water and then plug in the heat pad if you live in a meat locker like I do. Then in no time you have roots popping out of the rooter like crazy.

Oh I'll be right behind you, I'm dropping mine in a day or so, soon as I prep the LECA.

I think I'm going to order some kind soil and roots organic for the autos. Originally planned to use vermifire, but I realized that they're owned by folks that want to take our money and take away our weed with that money. F'em, no more of my money for them.
Rant over.
 
Thanks for looking in everybody. I work a ton of hours so it's not so easy for me to keep a detailed journal as I would like. Squeezing in a post here and there at work with whatever pictures I'm able to snag before bed.

D.A.A.S.69 is root organics too hot for seedlings ?
I like the results you get with kind soil and I'm in !
 
@d.a.s.s.69 I popped them in rapid rioters under the dome. Then once the first real leaves showed I looked at the roots, which were sticking out everywhere, I put them in coco/perlite with seedling strength nutes. Off to the races !

Work sucks but you gotta work to have fun so I work. I have used the original kind of RO without any trouble with burning seedlings. If a seedling gets a look at KindSoil it will burn up that's how hot it is, I'm wanting to try Vermifire one time. Where I live I use Ms.Delta alluvial plain soil it's free and fertile grows the hell out of pot almost just like KindSoil nothing but water. Good Growing CK
 
I kept mine in just Roots for the first 3 weeks, until I moved them to their final pots. No problems.
 
So reading kind soils q&a page they suggest 2lbs of kind for autos in a 3gal pot.
"An auto-flower will not need more than 2 lbs. of kind soil in its life cycle."
I use 5gal smart pots...so I sent an email to kindsoil.com asking if 2.5lbs would be good for a 5gal pot. The answer I got was...
"We suggest 3 lbs of kind soil for all autoflowers."-Phil Kind

I'm curious what say You ? How much do you use in what size pot for autos?

I used about 2 and a half pounds of KindSoil on the bottom of a 3 gallon SmartPot, FFOF on top. In a 5 gallon SmartPot I would use at least 3 and a half pounds of KindSoil on the bottom. Good Luck with it.
