I have been following as much of the state by state polls and opinions about the up coming medical and legal weed voting which will be on various state ballots,this election.I came across an article about Cali's proposition 64,The writer was of the opinion that if the state votes to go completely legal a lot of smaller cannabis farmers that depend on their crop for their livelihood will be put out of business,not being able to compete with the larger and let's face it better funded grows.I can see this as a concern,but couldnt the smaller guys morph into the micro grows,much like specialized micro brewers of beer and liquor.I am a world away from Cali,but I am interested in what the grow community thinks.Lets face it,liquor has been legal for a long time,but there are still plenty of bootleggers and I still enjoy a jar of good moonshine from time to time.And I would be more tempted sometimes to spend my money on a small batch of frog holler haze,rather than a commercial grown OG kush. What Say You GWE Community,your opinion matters,
 
My opinion is that you finish your other story....please

Weed should just be legal all the way around....
Just decriminalize it at leave the rest to us....
 
And the commercial growers are already so far ahead. They have their facilities all set up and ready to go right as soon as they get the go ahead.

I do agree though, that small growers , the best ones anyone, could probably make a go of it offering specialty, exotic strains. And especially 100% organically grown. One thing is for sure, the home growers will have to lower their prices to be competitive.

I live in farm country and it's amazing how many people will do all the grocery shopping at the big chain store, and stop at a farm on their way home to get fresh eggs. Different, but similar circumstances.
 
From what I have read, the prices commercial growers charge for their weed. There always be room for the small grower to make a buck.
 
Damn, I hate Pennsylvania. Fortunately we are less that 2 hours from District of Columbia. We found a guy via craigslist. Hopefully we will no longer need a middle man. But, dang my husband thinks our house is the object of some reconnaissance mission.
 
Biggest thing that scares me about legalization is corporations coming in and ruining everything. There are so many things that can happen it makes my mind reel. California will set the tone for the rest of the country.

Cali is capable as well as culpable...being here I have to ride the brahma bull if the state went in sooner? None the less have to proceed the state is so f.....g late waiting for
the vote
the information via press is numbing
 
There is an excellent article out there where someone interviewed Willie Nelson. Making weed available from small local growers is his new passion in life. He has started his own company to help further this cause. I'll try to find a link and post it. Very entertaining reading.
 
Mike, we are just kidding you. While I am anxious for the ending, I have been enjoying your writing. You have a flair for suspense. Maybe you could write a book about this experience. I bet it would be a best seller.
 
I'm with you, Mike. Tough room! 😉 I have family in CA and from what I'm told it was the growers that helped defeat legalization in CA the last time it was on the ballot. As far as pricing, Colorado dispensaries seem to be competitive with street prices where I live. Just let me grow a little and smoke without fear of jail time. BTW. A lot of moonshiners in my area already grow pot too!
