Auto onyx from seedsman!

Hello all,

In my last order from seedsman, I bought 1 onyx auto, this strain had one review which said the grower had got five of these seeds and NONE had popped, do not buy these seeds, I am an experienced grower and I know I made no mistakes, it said, I couldn't resist trying to prove him/her wrong..............and this morning I did!!:p

Hey Rockman, you are right dude, it's a great feeling to see that shell rise, BTW congrats on the harvest dude, azlyn told me you got 4.4oz, waaaaaay better than me but what I learnt along the way is invaluable, I'm gonna put a review on when it's established itself, it's only fair I think, my onyx has been great so far:)
 
So sweet when that happens. I[m a newbie here and very interested in your germination seed set-up. I seed with the same plugs, but I like the way you did this. It's like putting toothpicks in a carrot top instead of in the net basket and run the DWC. How did you do it? Is there water at the bottom of the bowl or are you using the moisture that comes with the plug? :)
 
Great growing to you! I can hardly believe how much I've learned since starting last year. We're all soaking up this experience of cannabis cultivation! 🌱🌱
 
I soak the seed in room temp water for 24hrs, then put in soaked plug with toothpicks over an empty egg cup, then in germ station with a rammikin of water inside as well so not too dry in there, i have a jug of ph 6.0-6.5 water in same room for 24hrs before using to leach off any chems and temp stable, keep a close eye and don't let it go dry, I use a pipette to water and let the drops fall from about 12" above, I think this simulates rainfall and shakes the seed to life? Then wait to see a root then into the medium...hope this helps.

thanks. yes it will use your method. I have 2 very prized seeds that come from a grow that I'm very familiar with effects of the buds. I have never gotten a seed from these dispensary purchase of medicinal herbs and they guard seeds like a hawk. These seeds are their most expensive purchase and named after the shop, so there are no hints to the strain of indica. I don't want to go through all of the strains of what I love when I lucked out on finding 2 green seeds, they may loose this grower. thanks again. :)

Onyx update.....this little lady is coming on well, I'm still watering with a pipette but not from 12" above, just wet top of plug now and let gravity do the rest, keeping a close eye on her too.

Really with that kind of money for 1 seed,if you don't STS it to get seeds you have wasted 9+ grand....Or don't get any of them and buy equipment to make ur own breeds which will prolly cost you less down the road....Im not judging their ability to breed and surely not saying i wouldn't buy it if it were cheaper or take it if it were given to me,just saying cannabis growing should be greatly re-checked for expenses,besides initial setup if your ounce costs you more than 100$ worth of expenses monthly you should drop that way down!!
