Are you happy with your seeds?

Nirvana doesn’t label them, I have a five pack of them. My current grow is from clones and it’s my first, I was thinking I’d practice germinating with them since I’ve never germinated a seed before and I’d hate to screw up the ones I paid for.

I have grown Nirvana's AK-48 (photo) three times and final yield always exceeded expectations but mine took MUCH longer to finish than advertised (90 days). I was growing with CFL at the time so I just chalked up long finish to lighting but love the buzz of AK-48!

It's probably too early for me to chime in, but I'm growing a Nirvana Swiss Cheese and Amnesia Haze from Royal Queen Seeds, which are both breeders recommended on GWE, if I'm not mistaken. The AH smells amazing, but upon further research, it looks to call for 12 weeks of flower!! Holy moly, that's a long time. I guess I should have noticed it before I tried it, but it was a freebie and one of the shorter strains I had purchased. I placed another order from seedsman from the Black Friday deals and have more Nirvana, Humboldt, Sweet Seeds, and Seedsman coming for more indoor strains, since my initial order was outdoor strains.

I received the Amnesia Haze as a freebie from my last Seedsman order too. They are the biggest cannabis seeds I have ever seen.

My two most disappointing seeds were both from Green House seeds. The Flower Bomb Kush seeds did nada. The White Rhino did produce, but were runty plants that did not develop properly. I am a bit wary of Green House Seeds. Apparently the actual breeder of Flower Bomb Kush is Strain Hunters Merchandise, and only sold by Green House Seeds.

I only have a few experiences to contribute about. The grows have been getting better for me each time and I think it is because I am learning more as I go along. When I take into consideration the few grows that I have done, I really like DNA Genetics. The strain was Lemon Skywalker and the growth, response to training and yield were all very good. It was a strong, resilient and potent plant. I germinated 1 seed so it was 100% germination for me. Dutch Passion also comes through strong for me. The Outlaw plant is a Amnesia Haze type hybrid that had a very good yield and was easy to grow. When I think back, I think my Dutch Passion produced denser buds - eventually while curing and storing the big buds developed rot and I blame the humidity packs for this (never again).

I would not purchase Canuk Seeds or Barney's Farm Seeds. The Barney's strain I purchased was a Tangie one and unfortunately none of the seeds popped for me. The Canuk was an auto Cheese and the yield was good for the conditions but I would not purchase due to the reputation and the plethora of other companies to try even at a similar price point.

Companies that I would love to give a shot at include: Mephisto and Woodhorse Seeds (Canadian)

I have never had a problem with rot, and I use the Boveda packs every time. Weed may not have been dried sufficiently, or had already started before jarring. You just may not have noticed it. Always order the Boveda 62 packs a few weeks before harvest from Amazon at great savings.

Did you know Indica-dominant seeds will be bigger than Sativa-dominant? Even though sativa tend to grow taller.

I have heard nothing but good things about mephisto from my vast research on the internet. Maybe I'll give them a try next time!

All great information fellow growers. Who cares what the seed producers say how good their seeds are, I'm listening to the people that have actually used them.
Positives and negatives are all valuable information, all good info.
I know I started this discussion, but we can all benefit from this kind of knowledge. Keep it coming fellow growers.

And you guys that haven't signed up for this forum, but are reading this stuff and thinking about starting a grow - this is the type of information you need to read to make a good decision on what to grow.

Hey NebulaHaze , found a good topic to get people talking.

No these seeds are far bigger than any seeds sativa or indica that i have had in the past. Received them late this last year so will plant them with a wide variety this coming year.

I’m going to begin with my germ process as it has evolved over 4 years in coco growing - I think the success of your seeds have to do with your germ process and dedication to your ritual of feed AND pH attention. After that the outcome of seed breeders is discussable.
i am very happy with the variety from Nirvana, Seedsman and ILGM (Bergman’s), and now about to germinate seeds from AMS who made a great restock for my confiscated seeds.

The only issue I have I believe to be out of my control) is phenotype. That again goes back to my growing conditions where if I actually knew it was perfect I could comment on phenotype. Ie 5 plants of same seed behaving differently.

SO.....answer is am very happy with my seeds, dark or light, my germ is pretty much 98% now to 100%. The literal output of weight I don’t give attention to at this point because some strains really don’t do high yields..like God bud BUT a little of her will travel a long ways.
gorilla cookies, Northern light and Northern lights, Gold leaf.... all high yield.

process and environment contribute to seed opinion....I think.... then throw in some strains like or don’t like LAT, topping, defol...however all my plants get the SAME treatment...
so yes I am happy with my seeds, breeders, strains
goodjesus I carried on...again
thanks for the ear
ps I will add. In afterthought that my Blue cheese did a strange on me but think she tends to do so...long narrow buds...embarrassing..bit high sugar and a good smoke...

Bummer Barney's Farm didn't work out for you. I've had great results from them. Critical Kush and sin trabajo just went for a 24 hour water soak on 11/27, both popped and are above ground. I also did a mephisto Ripley's og with em. Last grow was critical kush from BF. Still drying a 2oz. test bud. With 5 more like it waiting for their turn.

quietbinary, this may seem obvious to you now, but you should reduce the size of the buds when you jar them because of the hidden moisture in a large bud...

I have grown Nirvana seeds and sweet seeds.

2 jock horror autos from Nirvana. 1 got 3g dry weight, one got 58g dry weight (total grower error. Kept getting root rot in dwc and switched to Coco. The runt was a week older so it was too badly stunted). Jock Horror was really good and could have been so much better if I had experience. The plant produced and grew like the site said and within the time they gave.

I grew 3 red poison from sweet seeds. I got 64g from one, 58g from another, and 43 g from the third. Mine had yellow rust looking spots on the leaves almost throughout the grow (late veg/all of flower) but didn't seem to deter them too much. I'm growing it again and the spots are just starting to happen about 3 weeks into flower. It's only on a couple leaves, and this looks like it will be the heaviest yielder of the red poisons that I have grown.

Also growing sweet Trainwreck auto from sweet seeds. 2 are mainlined and are doing really well. I topped one and it has extremely small nugs for how far along it is. To be fair though, I remember reading somewhere that this particular plant does not like to be topped. I do find it odd that mainlining it, which seems to be far more strenuous than topping, has been working excellent for me.
