Amber alert

Hi all my wife just brought these home for me. Thought I'd share since I've never seen one before. Think these will do the trick for curing. Anyone ever try these jars?

Wal-Mart had them they were the last ones on the shelf. I don't use hygrometers in my jars though. I check them once or twice but have had some successful cures without them. Should be able to see them though 😆.

I've been seeing more and more Ball and Mason jars, all sizes and colors. Walmart used to just have them seasonally, but mine is carrying them full-time now. I've ever seen them at the Dollar General Store, but the prices are all about the same.

Yeah my thought was I won't have to leave my jars in the dark and can just store them anywhere. Idk preserving a lot of nugget so we'll see how they stand up to clear in about 8 weeks 😉.

You can find glass amber packer jars for a hella lot cheaper if you look around; Amazon is really gauging on 4 jars.

They were definitely cheaper at Wal-Mart. $9.86, they are still a little pricey for 4 jars. I don't know if they are worth the price. Not sure if light degrades thc after cure but think the idea of it being able to cure anywhere that temp and humidity are stable (in the zone) makes for a reason to test them.

I always try to protect my buds from light. I'm not obsessive about it, but it is something that I try to do. All bud - Always... except when its still growing ;)

@chiefbjy You mos def want to avoid exposure to light and heat. Buds are like vampires: they like cool dark places.

Hmm I'm thinking that's why dispensary weed doesn't seem as potent as what they label 😆 improper storage.

I have been keeping mine in my dresser. But after filling all 3 drawers and not being able to fit any clothes in there i got a file cabinet. It is a 4 drawer 5 foot tall regular width standard file cabinet. I Can lock it (although anyone could easily break in it) but you can fit alot of jars in it. It stays dark and doesnt take much space. Works great and they are really cheap.

I've been using the quart sized, blue, Ball jars (this is why punctuation is important) but saw these same amber jars today at Wallyworld but they only had them in 2 quart. Would 2 quart containers work as well for curing? Would I need an additional Humidi-pack?
