As veggies grow, the bud sites grow vertical. Should these be bent to horizontal, also?

Yup why not. The flatter and wider the canopy the more space for the flowers to shoot up and get big. Plus in theory you want 8 or more colas all the same size by flattening things out before they flower

Here is a pic of hydro veggies right before I went 12/12 I didn't clean the fan leaves but before I went to flower trimmed fans that blocked a bud site.

I love the leaves too_ especially when they get really wide_ even got a few with 9 and 11...fingers?.....instead of the normal 7....But am very careful about mold_ we usually have 50-99% humidity around here and I've had water collect on leaves where they touch, so I trim them enough to avoid that. I'm always trying to decide how much to defoliate. Trying to find a medium between all factors can be difficult.

Currently I'm in favor of some defoliation. I'm keeping a close eye on the "Extream Defoliation" thread to see how it turns out.

I try to trim old leaves, thay never stay more than 2 week at most leaving enough to keep my girls happy
