400w hps question

so building a flower room, was given a 400w hps light yesterday, i did hook it up and place in my veg room until build is done but the question of the day is, what size hps light should i use for a room that is 9'x11'x7'. i am thinking of buying a 1000w hps light off amazon for 159 (see attached link).

the problem im wondering is would it be more advisable to buy 2 600w hps lights ( few bucks less then the 1000w hps light). i am also trying to not spend a fortune on the energy bill but i do know adding an hps light im looking at a high bill already, unfortunately by adding hps to my set ups. so would a 1000w light be suggestible to supply that room size, or would i be better off adding two 600w hps lights for that size room.

the advantages of hps surpass the disadvantages of having it and i feel that it will increase the bud production in the long run. im just not so sure on how to go about this so that way i am able to produce more yet cover the amount of plants i plan to grow (12-24). I dont plan to add 24 in the room at one time but rather added a few plants a week or every other week, that depends on other factors as i go along.

however i do see that the 1000w hps will cover more area rather then the 600w hps but if i add two 600w hps it will cover more area then a 1000w hps. if i go a 600w hps i can cross the lights to cover each others light path so it can cover more area rather then the 1000w. this is just so damn confusing to me, I have no true understanding or can i understand the whole production part of lights and the benefits they produce from one another. the site gives a brief understanding of it but does not go into detail and i really cant find any site that gives a more understanding (im a picture/hands on type of person). after i can understand this better i plan to put together a clear understanding of this for others to understand better (newer growers).

If you're really planning on using all 9x11 of the floor space, I'd get two 1000-watt lights.

i have the area to use but have some cabinets on one side of room with a wash tub. so i will lose a little space but not much ill upload a pic of the area, wont let me upload keeps say pics to big smh. i have prob a couple hours of work to get the room finished (prob have done this weekend) but i was thinking the same to get 2 1000w hps and giving my dad this 400w for his area of flower.

two are better than one - you will get more intense light and will be stronger than one because of the specific "sweet spots" of the lights/light spread. You than can also do add side-lighting for some areas' - that light has poor coverage (corner, ect) - . 500 watt CFL's do very well for this and are very cheap to run - "1.000 bubls.com" Please keep us informed !! what will be your electric bill ? (estimate) 2 66 W vs 1 1,000 W)

well bill is up already 100$ due to 2 t-5 8 bulb running 53 w per bulb and 1- 4 bulb t5, not to include the 6" inline and fans in 1st room. im expecting a bill of about 350 ugh

My 600 watt and vent only uses $75.00 a month.

600 watt bulbs are more efficient than 1000w- and two 600s in that space will be far more practical than one 1000w.
A 600 will cover a 12 square foot area well. Give or take a little. Aim for about 50 watts per square foot for best growth.
You can obviously fit more than two of those lights in your space. In fact you could fit four. . But it depends how much of the space you need for other uses, and for moving around. Less than 40% of my grow room is taken up by plants and the rest is other essentials, including walking space.

basically i like to keep the plants away from touching, but i might need to pack closer, 600w is not any cheaper then a 1000W light, sad part the 600w is only like 10-15 bucks cheaper

are you using a single or dual ballast. i didnt know they had a dual ballast so i could honestly cut down on the amount of wires even.

Currently I'm just using a single 400 watt for 4 to 6 plants and my opinion come from the info from many growers recommend 600 watts becuz they dnt get as hott as 1000 watts but working in secret gardens we always used 1000 watts I just think with your set up you'd be happy with one 1000 watt but happier with 2 600 watts again this is just my 2 cents hope it helps a little

1200w will be nice, i found fixtures for 50 and im gonna pick up a dual ballast i think and run two 600 lights, while after a few runs i can then add an extra 1000w light or even 2.

here is the plants i am working on now. they are week 9 from clone. i am giving them about two more week maybe. also here is the pics of the room im going to use for flower.

plants in veg use two t5 8 bulbs and a 4 bulb all 4 foot.

Plants look awesome! I think two 600 watts would definitely be plenty for that area
