36"x36"x72" grow tent and Lighting

If I was using a fixture with a similar efficiency, I'd shoot for at least 400w actual power consumption. Higher efficiency diodes would need around 300w

Thanks guys, I have 2 grow areas, my tent and a small closet that is 27"x36"x87". I have a vipraspecta 450 in the tent now and a 4 bulb 24" T5 fixture in the small closet. Was thinking of moving the T5 to another spot " doesn't really need to be in the closet for veg. Then move the 450 to the closet and buy something with a little bigger footprint for the tent or do like Canuck147 and put 2 300's in the tent, which is what I think I will do.

My thinking on this is I want to start a perpetual grow and don't think the T5's will be much good if I run into time problems and need to keep the closet grow going into flowering and I think the 450 foot print is a little small for the tent. Does this make sence or am I confused?:D

I've used the 450 in that size footprint and it worked ok. But definitely got better buds with more and denser light.

Buddy Yes they work great for me from sprout thru veg, I'll keep using them. Haven't tried cloning yet, so far I've only grown autos.

My 1st thought was to get another 450, then if I get a larger tent down the road I'll be set. I could do this and just leave the T5s in the closet.

Yea could be good, campesino has two 400s in a 4x4. Which he yields not too bad at all with. Together they are equavalent to about a 400w HPS.
