The bud is put away nice and neat into the Cannatrol. Labeled in different colors for ease of selection. Now it's time to get down to taste testing. I'll have a smoke report on 4/20

In the mean time, my ginger plant HATES the humidity situation in the house. I need to figure something out. The bag is only a temp solution.... But the solution also needs to work for when I plant it outside in the window planters. I need to have a humidity dome on it.

My Christmas/Easter cactus is FINALLY doing better. Apparently it hated the soil it was in. Doing so much better with the Jack's Gritty Mix. It's exploding with new growth on all sides.

My Venus fly traps got fed and I noticed that the remains in one of the traps also had a fungus growing on it. It was sharing a meal with the fly trap? Just looked like a zombie fly so I took the opportunity to practice some macro photography.

JonnyBoy I grow lots of different plants and fungi. I'll be honest, I did get them thinking they would catch the gnats, but they're too small to trigger the hairs. I should have gotten a Sundew plant. They have trichomes like the cannabis plant and it uses them to trap the bugs while it digests them. I do like feeding flies that I catch to the traps. I did a series of macro shots of the left over fly after the trap opens. They're on my Instagram

I took a bunch of edibles and tried making a video that came out poorly due to turntable issues.

But here it is. The last post for this thread.

💨 THE SMOKE REPORT 💨

We're going to start with the worst.

Sour Orange by Super Natural Seeds
2/10
Yield - It yielded very poorly coming in at 64g only. She seemed so promising. I just want familiar with the genetics. There was little stretch and she was next to a giant beast so lighting may not have been ideal plus, She was behind that tent flap and not getting the extra air movement from the room fan.

The Smell - I quite like the smell. It's got this oily rag fumes smell with orange peel boot shine. Very heavy on the chemical smell. Very unique. Like it legit smells like an oil bucket. 🤣 Different kind of gas

Trichomes - The trichomes on her are huge. Sand sized and crunch under the scissors like cutting through sand. Everything about it seems promising.

Vape - The smell doesn't carry over taste. It's very gassy and fuely then on the second or 3 puff, the taste is all but gone. On the larger buds, you get a bit of orange peel gas but most of it was just popcorn.

High - Not much of a high. Has to be smoked as the first high of the day if you want to get any effect at all. The effect that it does have is a bit stimulating. Good if you need to focus and do stuff. Very clear headed. That's probably why I don't feel much. The cerebral buds don't do much for me and if they do, it's usually an anxiety attack.

Overall - Meh, I'm not counting her out just yet. The smell and trichomes were nice. It may have been grower error in this case and an unfamiliar cultivar. There's potential there. I'm growing a Supernova Auto from Super Natural Seeds. They seem to specialize in autos, maybe I'll get better results there.
The only thing that's keeping this at a NO is the high. I don't like the head high. I need the body high to help manage pain. She's got a lot of Amber and it's still not doing much for the pain.

Next up is a toss up between the Purple Punch and the Birthday Cake. Both had things I liked and both had things I hated.

Purple Punch by b/w label

Yield - She came in at 66g. She was a small plant but all 66g of this plant is SOLID, FULL SIZED nuggets. The grinder has a real hard time with this one. It's like trying to grind stone in a metal grinder. Not much popcorn unlike the Sour Orange which was almost all popcorn. Still poor performance.

The Smell - None. It smells like a herbaceous plant. Just smells green. I kid you not, the whole entire time that I was growing her I kept doing leaf rubs and touching the buds and it literally had no smell. None. No gas No grape No punch. Nada

Trichomes - out of all the buds that I grew this one has the best bag appeal. Looks absolutely stunning beautiful orange hairs trichomes that are just shining like diamonds on there. It's the most beautiful flower. It's as photogenic as those great balls of fire that I grew. Stunner of a looker. SO BIZARRE.

Vape - Still no taste. No smell. It's a little effervescent on the first pull that's probably the THC vaporizing and whatever else. No taste.

High - Fantastic high. Great all over body high. Knocks out my pain almost instantly. Great for just relaxing after a hard day.

Overall - This one's weird because I love purple punch Just putting that out there. It gets me the body high that I enjoy, knocks out all my pain and normally tastes amazing while also looking like a 10/10. This one though totally missed the mark on taste and you know I GROW FOR THE TERPS I love great tasting flower that's why I don't combust. You lose so much flavor. This flower has no flavor not the high is great. This is a perfect one to roll up in a joint and enjoy. Nothing to taste but the effects are fantastic and it looks fantastic. Purple punch is also a known yielder. Mine just grew small because the grow dots petered out halfway through.




Birthday Cake by Blimburn

Yield - This one came in at a nice 112g. Birthday Cake is a known stretchy yielder, and she did just that. From a tiny plant at flip, she stretched like crazy and managed to give 112g of fluffy flower. It's still solid but not dense like the purple punch. More manageable for a grinder or breaking up by hand. Fantastic yield and Al the buds, down to the bottom, are HUGE

The Smell - At first, she smelled like the organic natural bug spray. You know The one with the Rosemary, basil, citronella extracts. Yeah, hated it. As she kept growing, she developed some vanilla and cake, yeasty overtones that ended up making it smell like vanilla mint cake? If that's a thing🤔 Very minty cake

Trichomes - It's a bit of a wild west affair when it comes to the trichomes on this one. Because she was also very hairy and leafy at the time of chopping there's trichomes just all over the place. Even when you use a microscope it looks all sorts of crazy and the trichomes look just as wild some of them look bent over and broken other ones look really nice and well-shaped. Just a whole mix of things.

Vape - She's just as minty as she smells. It's like gassy mint with some citrus when vaping. Not too crazy about the taste. Still has that bug spray kinda flavor.

High - The high is okay. It's got a bit of a body high, it's got a bit of a head high. It's down the middle. I think I prefer Wedding Cake over Birthday Cake but still a very solid high.

Overall - Yeah, I will be growing this one in the future, but from a different breeder 😅. I don't like Blimburn. The yield and the high were good but the taste and structure were lacking. Though, more likely, I'll get

Number 2 is my baby, The Terpy.

I'll be brief here.

Yield - For a 3 gallon, 70/30 Coco perlite mix, I got 101g of dense, large nuggets from top to bottom. Almost no popcorn. Solid yield for so little substrate. Kudos General Hydroponics. I'm impressed

The Smell - She certainly smells different than she does when I grow her in peak based organics. She's less spicy and more citrusy. Less peppery but more like the ass end of a skunk. You can smell her blocks away. Again super impressed.

Trichomes - The trichomes are a little bit of a mess. This isn't some highly selected cultivar so there's a lot of trichomes but some of them are bent and crooked some look fine some don't have heads. It's just a big mix but there's a lot of them. The structure is also top-notch. Nice solid buds The grinder has a hard time with them. As soon as you crack them open the whole house just smells like the ass end of a skunk that's wearing a citrus air freshener.

Vape - Very strong citrus flavor, very strong gas flavor, very strong funk for pull after pull after pull. Long lasting flavors.

High - last time I chopped her early and it was too stimulating so this time I let her go and she had about like 10% Amber maybe a little bit more and it got her to where I wanted it. It still gives you a nice clear headed high but with a real strong body high underneath it. It gets me social it gets me motivated it gets me happy. It's definitely got that blue dream in there. I love it.

Overall - there's a reason why I keep her. I like the high and the growth is fantastic. She could take some abuse. I've also been selecting for the branches that have the most amount of 3 pointed leaves and each time I grow her, The three-pointed leaves stick around for longer and longer into the grow. Eventually I'm going to get her down to just three leaves for the whole entire grow. It's kinda fun. I'm gonna create my own little freak.

The winner winner is the
Grape Caper by Purple Caper Seeds

Yield - She's looked like she was going to give me 70g. She was all stem. SO STRETCHY She ended up giving me 93g of super dense amazing buds. Couldn't believe it.

The smell - She smells like Grape gummy worms on the plant. If you disturb her, she gets really gassy smelling. When I was trimming her, I bought and built a computer for a friend about 3 days after I trimmed her and that computer smelled like weed for 2 weeks after he took it home. The smell is SO LOUD. My whole apartment, MY FREAKING IPAD CASE FOR WORK smelled like weed for days. That smell permeated the freaking paint in my house. Holy hell the smell.

Trichomes - the trichomes on her are beautiful when you look under the microscope they are all perfect little rows of mushrooms. Frosty like little diamonds all over the multi colored flower. The structure of this one is crazy. It gets so stretchy and so lanky I'm pretty sure this one would do really well in a trellis net situation.

Vape - Amazing amazing amazing. The flavor varies from so much grape gas that it tastes like licorice. As you keep hitting the vape, the flavor mellows to a nice Concord grape flavor and then finishes off on a light berry taste. It's delicious all the way through. Sometimes I'll be sitting there for 15 minutes hitting the same bowl because it still has flavor. Amazing amazing amazing

High - Near perfect. It's got a great body high It's got a good head high it gets you giggly it gets you happy it gets you creative but it could also couch lock you and get you super sleepy. It's great. If it's the first high of the day it's going to get you active and creative but if you've already smoked that same day, it's going to put you out and get you ready for bed.

Overall - I'm so glad I took clones of this one. The most annoying part is that cloning this one is incredibly difficult. I have never in my life had this many problems with cloning cannabis plants. Normally all you got to do is just stick it in the dirt and it does its thing. You don't even need to give it any kind of additives or hormones but with this one no matter what I do no matter what I give it it seems like it takes a month and a half for it to even get roots. Horrible cloning plant but well worth the struggle.
