White House Warns: Fed Crackdown on Recreational Marijuana Coming

If you want do some reading that covers just about all the aspects, opinions about, weed forecasts etc. then check out the news on Leafly. there's a bunch of information there all in one place. The situation is a zoo for sure. Be glad we grow our own and pray for the folks who have invested their own and others $ in commercial ventures. As far as the individual user in legal states is concerned things probably won't change much....if you grow your own. States where weed is legal need to follow what Washington State's governor is doing_ they have a bill about to pass that prohibits local or state police to assist or cooperate with any Federal efforts that disregard their state laws concerning weed. If you read a bunch of those articles its the states where weed has brought in substantial tax revenue that will likely resist the most. And those where a major portion of the general population strongly oppose the Feds sticking their noses into Sate business. Cross you fingers and get involved. Action is hope, sitting on your butt is accepting defeat. Kinda like all those folks who would have voted against this administration but just couldn't be bothered.... or didn't because they thought they had already won. Not.

I better get my ass in gear and get one too, now that dispensaries are legal here. Just in case they keep the med and can the rec. I should be able to get one since I have seizures and there is so much research now being conducted on treating all kinds of nervous system disorders with cannabis. Lucky for me I don't have them very often. But once is more than enough. I also have been corresponding with a well know and respected neurologist_ told him I have made my own CBD capsules and that I haven't had a seizure in more than 18 months. He said to keep it up! That's the plan!

That they are not. Lets hope the republican party itself keeps Trump (and his appointees) from pursuing objectives that will lose them more votes in the next election than not. They definitely want to win, know that isn't likely to happen next time around, especially if Trump keeps pursuing objectives that are unpopular with a majority of the population.

The following link is to the petition asking the federal government to please respect the states decisions on marijuana laws. As many of you have already heard, the new staff in the Whitehouse are working toward prosecuting again, anyone who grows, uses, transports marijuana on a recreational level, plus start making things hard for the medical users as well. We have come a long way to be where we are today with many states now legalized in either medical use or recreational use and if the people don't speak up now, all this headway and sacrificing many of you have done will be for nothing and years work lost. Now is the time to talk before its too late. Please click the link and sign the petition, and also send it to friends and family as well. The more voices the better!

I don't know about other states with medical, but here in WA its actually very easy to get medical authorization. just costs about $150 and a trip to green wellness with your medical records. I've been telling EVEYBODY how to get one, most folks don't seem to know about the little wording change done last year for medical qualifications in the bill. lucky little window we can jump thru and stay out of the shadow of the feds. for now at least!
I'm gonna enjoy the he'll out of this while it lasts.

By now, it should be obvious that Donald Trump’s people are not marijuana people.

Not quite so. I know a lot of voters that voted Trump. I wouldn't be panicking over this . I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that most of the drug problems are created by doctors who write prescriptions for pain meds with no follow up. Some of these should be limited to a one time prescription.

Yes, normally I feel like it's a good idea to avoid political posts in here, but I'm happy with posting this petition about the government letting states to decide their own laws about cannabis. I already signed it myself :) We need to stick together!

Trump had already said this many times, that the Fed had to let the state's control these laws.

Yes, but people are worried because his press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that the administration is going to ramp up enforcement of federal laws against recreational cannabis (not medical thankfully). Trump hasn't corrected him yet even though it's been all over the news for days, which is concerning. It's especially concerning considering the same day Spicer also indicated that the Trump administration planned on ramping up the use of for-profit prisons. Jeff Sessions (the guy in charge of federal enforcement) is also publicly against any type of cannabis use, medical or recreational and literally says people who smoke cannabis are bad people.

If Trump just took a second to weigh in and say Spicer was wrong and he was going to make sure the federal government respected state's rights, I would feel 1000% better! I think that's what the petition is trying to get him to do.

So here is my take on the entire situation and the probable outcome.

There has been a number of federal amendments which has stopped the Federal Government from interfering with the states marijuana laws. Seizure of property etc. and even directives to the Treasury Department to get on board with the banking industry for marijuana operations. ie- IRS can not track/tax commercial growers, so lost revenue.

In addition to this, each/every budget year has seen a simple one liner- which basically de-funds prosecutions etc. for any simple marijuana crimes.

If the Department of Justice starts enforcing the federal marijuana laws which conflicts with the state- it will be very selective ie- commercial recreational growers.

They are likely to leave medical marijuana alone- which will cause the DEA grief is it picks and chooses which laws to follow (directed by one man?) and the public outcry will force the hand of the federal government to legalize all marijuana, from the federal legislative branch which has voted against Session's and his stance for decades!

Now that's not even taking into consideration the push back likely to happen in the recreational states who are collecting taxes.

As this all began, with the " Marihuana Tax Act" <--that's how it was spelt ) of the 1930's where the Federal Government (unsuccessfully) tried to collect a hemp tax-
So once the Federal Government see's the tax money coming-

Marijuana will be made legal- federally

I think they need to investigate the pharmaceutical company's I know of some people who have been on pain management for years they get a high tolerance to meds take more dock doesn't increase dosage then they turn to street drugs like heroin not a thing to do with natural growing mj they get kick backs from pharmaceuticals companies and doctors also I guess they are legal drug dealers long live cannabis growers

I sent this link to everyone I know ever body pass this link on we need all the help we can get are state did not pass even though 57percent voted yes majority is supposed to rule

I'm starting to think because of the information the federal petition is asking for, for verification, that many are too afraid to sign their petition. I'm considering starting another on Change.org which is another well known petition website that uses different means to verify real signatures with less personal information required. The only thing is, I would need help with its wording and who they would go to once completed as my experience here is very little. Had it been where all I needed to do was serve a legal subpoena, those are easy for me to get done as I do this quite often with my work. And no, I am not going to serve the federal government a subpoena, especially with the child in office who shoots first never asks later behavior lol.
