    LED lights burning plants

Ok bought two 2000 watt led lights. Switched from eight bulb T5. How big of an area will the LED lights cover? I have then as far away from plants as possible(12") but they are burning plants even though I don't feel to much heat coming off them.

What is the actual wattage draw at the wall? Regardless yoimir way to close cant imagine should be anywhere below 24 inches above the canopy

That's a lot of light buddy. Might have to take one out if you can't raise any higher. Or you could look into adding co2 to your space. It will help the plant use more light efficiently. But 12" is deff to close even if the temp is fine. What is the actual wattage draw for your lights? That will better help you come up with a starting point for distance. You could always take one led out and use the t5s if space will allow. That would deff help the burn while still maximizing what you can.

When you increase LED watts from say 300 to 600 and again to 1000- minimum the distance from the lights increase. a 300w in veg may be 18-24" but a 600w will be 36" plus.
You can not use the hand method for LED's- find out more info on the lights, but my best guess is between 48"-56" for veg.
Each manufacturer is different as is the coverage area that corresponds to what height.

It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

isn't that funny how the led manufactures don't tell you how far away to hang them before you buy them. I wanted to go Leds but dont have the height in my room so I got a couple of 100 w bars and hung from ceiling so supplement my hps so far so good
new grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

The good ones typically do tell you. And will help over the phone if one needs it. I have to keep mine about 18 from the tops
