HELP! Clones from a flowering plant

I have one single AK Widow 47 that's about 3 weeks old but she isn't doing good at all. I was gonna use her for clones since she was my last AK Widow seed. But since she's doing bad I took 6 clones off of my AK Widow that was only a few days from harvest. So with that being said, what kind of problems will I run into trying to clone a flowering plant? Is it even possible?

It is very possible. It will probably take longer than regular clones do to root. Make sure you leave the entire buds on. That is where the new growth comes from.

Okay I did leave the buds on. And I have them in the Aeroponic Clone King. I also dipped them in clone gel. Hopefully they will start rooting.

did you take them High or low on the plant the lower stems will have a very little rooting hormones in them. good luck

There are many benefits to "Monster Cropping" --> https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog...fficiency-n209

It's hard to get them to root, compared to regular clones and you will get some very strange growth in the beginning.

That said: the only clone mother I keep, is a result of taking the clone in flower and the plant's grown out from it have been great.

Hopefully, whatever is wrong with the plant doesn't come with the clone, as you usually only clone healthy, growing plants.

Have faith. I just did the same thing. All my clones died a most horrible death so I took clones at 8 weeks. I took ALOT of them. I didn't use a clone machine and did it MY way.......so stupid. Anyways, the ones that came back took just over 5 1/2 weeks before new growth started happening. I also just cut back the plant I was harvesting to 6 buds left on it and set the light to 18/6 and there is probably 20 new tops growing out of it now. same thing around 5ish weeks before the new growth started.

It can take a few weeks, and they'll grow strangely with round leaves at first, but it's definitely possible to take a flowering clone! Some people call it reveg or monstercropping. I've got a few examples with pictures at that link to help know what to expect if you want to check them out!

so this year I started 24 plants from seed when they were ready to top I put the tops in clonex and cloned them I got 15 viable plants from the tops so I lost 9 .I had 1 gorilla glue thats the strain in bloom now still in veg I started giving it the clonex solution for about a month (wasn't planning on that long ) and I took 32 clones from it all 32 are still viable and just starting to show roots out of the root cubes day 13 today I will plant them in coco in a couple of days. my point is even if you dont have a chance to feed the plant clonex and get the rooting hormone in it you can still clone. but if you have the time feeding it clonex for a couple of weeks really will improve you odds.

                    OMG. That's too funny.

Clarification, please: you're feeding your mother plant clonex before cutting clones? In addition to dipping the cuttings in clonex?

Well it didn't take long for these to start rooting. But none of them have any new growth, anyone know about how long before I see new growth? Also what should I expect when they start changing back to veg?

I've had good luck planting my clones as soon as there were "some" roots. Those two farther back in the photo are definitely ready to go, it would be fine to let the smaller ones grow until they have caught up to those two. You could let them grow longer, but I don't think you need to let them get much bigger than those two bigger ones.

What medium are you going to grow them in?

oldjarhead100 How long til you saw new growth? The leaves are still all surgary and they haven't shown any decay or growth yet. They roots are coming in now, so how long til I start seeing some new leaves? And hooah, army 13b baby

Probably still 3-4 weeks. They will usually grow bigger roots before any new growth starts. The new growth will look like this.

Burny how long do you keep yours in the clone king? And do you have any pictures of what your roots usually looks like when you plant them?

I threw half a dozen lower branches with larfy little buds on them in the cloner a few weeks ago; one has a nice root ball going so far, the rest have started spitting out little strands here and there. Seems to work!

What kind of medium are you going to put them in? I usually wait until the new growth starts and the roots are larger. Usually 3-4 weeks. In my opinion they could probably be transplanted sooner though. Maybe as early as they get roots. I would keep them moist for a few days afterwards.
