Is it necessary to sterilize your tools when topping/defoliating?
I've read things that say it's best to as it will reduce the risk of infection at the cut sites?

Bad conditions in Halifax Nova Scotia for bud-rot this past summer so may plan on some special outdoor plants coming in and train em to a size that fits. have fun.
I had a few issues from seedling and then in veg, finally sorted it all, flowering going sweet for 5 weeks then nothing but rain for last week and a half with another week and a half of it left to go - pissed me off big time haha.
Everything seems fine since I put it under a 150w 2700k CFL 3 days ago, buds still growing like they are getting actual sunlight.
That’s good to hear yours ended up a success, such a bummer growing for 3.5 months to have it turn out crap.
From what I’ve learned so far there’s always a solution and you adapt to the environment you’re given.
Thank you man I’ve been having a great time with the plant!
was amazed/proud AF when I got my first 5 finger, then 7 finger, then when Santa delivered pistils on that very day and a week later I almost had tears of joy when the flowers appeared 😀 I never thought it would actually be fun growing and seeing it grow 👍🏻

The plant has not gotten any rain on it, anytime it even looked like it was going to I covered it.
So I have no problem with water being on the buds or leaves.
Was just double checking as I was worried putting under lights after being outdoors would turn it hermi while in flowering. Thank you very much for the info so far, every little bit helps my novice arse haha.

Bring them in, put lights at extreme distance until leaves and buds are drying, slowly bring them closer. 2 out of three plants survived when it happened to me, bud rot was deep in the third. I was afraid I would burn them in the beginning, not sure which is best.

just wondering if it’s bad for the plant to be put under lights seeing there’s going to be no sun for the next 2weeks?

Does it matter much if you put your outdoor plant under lights?? Where I live it has been raining for the last week and apparently there’s 2 more weeks left of this shitty weather, and my plant is in its last 3 weeks of flowering.

That plant has FoxFarm Happy Frog for soil. Just got it's first watering of nutes the other day. Only second time it's been watered after the initial wetting.
The pH runoff was 5.9, 6.8 going in.

I actually help off tipping as I am pretty sure my plant got the “Claw”, been trying to rectify ever since...
