    Good vs bad trim bud.

    I had a discussion with a mate who thinks he knows the correct way to trim, but i however have a different opinion but also have good reason to back it up. He however just claims thats how its suppose to be. So i thought id ask the people what they think. First picture is his trim, the other is mine. I like to trim quite close, because sugar leaves have very little value. I wouldnt mind leaving a little leaf if they had plent of resin, but this is not the case here.
    He thinks im cutting too close to the bud and risk damaging them, but iv done this long enough to know i am dealing very little damage.
    What you guys think ?

    Either way is good. It just about what you want. But your right, your not hurting a thing.

    I'm thankful for this "growing" community and for this plant!

      I agree take all that leaves away. Even pistils. There's no "right" way like you said if you had tons of tricomes maybe they could stay. But Just to settle the argument. When you buy medical top shelf weed it's trimmed all the way super close to the buds. i don't want to sound like a jerk but being afraid of trimming buds it's just inexperience

        less leaves = smoother smoke. Trim can always be used for other things!

          Yeah, Thats for sure. I use my sugar trim and popcorn buds for edibles. Great way to use em up. haven't been able to cut my smoking buds up and use them for something else, yet. Maybe later if I can coax a little more from the plants. Curing your smoking buds for 6-8 weeks makes em even smoother.
          But I can never wait more than 7-10 days to at least try them! Can anybody?

        Who cares if you do slight damage to a bud anyway, still better than what buds go through when machine trimmed!

          His bud is ugly from someone who used to sell at a med shop your bud is pretty and trimed proper gana have a smoother smoke plus I love smoken and useing my sugar leafs for many different things so the more u gather the better. Your right he is wroung blunt but I agree with u how can u damage a plant tht is already unrooted and drying unless u chop a part of the nugg off. Peace

              Yes, and it makes you look 10 years younger!!! ;-}

            #9
            What I know for sure is that it makes me FEEL ten years younger... then some of my buddies talk me into a free climb or day hike up and down 3000' in one day. Just can't keep up with those 30-40 somethings and not feel some pain after. Maybe lots of pain depending on how much I didn't want to acknowledge my age. At least we know how to make those aches go away!
