While re potting into a 10 gal pot. and moving back outside, I broke it! I call this a soda straw splint.

I have done the soda straw splint two or three times. The success rate depends, IMO, depends on how quickly you patch it and the severity of the stem break. But, it can work.

Been there too I made a cast out of masking tape held together with a clip.
