Hey everyone, just a quick update on the greenhouse grow. Everything's growing well and getting geared up for flowering. Had a few changes to the lineup. First the hybrids. Have a Death Star ×AK-47 , Apples and Bananas × Okie Wedding Cake, Blueberry × Okie, and a Gorilla Jealousy

And the landraces. Ended up with 4 female Cretans and no Kandahar females. Put 3 of the Cretans in 20 gallon pots in the greenhouse and 1 in the veggie raised bed. I have been impressed with the growth and viger of these plants from the start. I was looking for a landrace from an area as close as possible to my latitude here in Virginia (30°N). Should be a good smoke, hope so because I have 4 and they want to get huge. Just topped the ones in the greenhouse for the second time. Also have 2 Napali Highland landraces, 1 in the greenhouse and 1 in the raised bed. The Naplis have a strange growth pattern and kinda resemble bamboo when they get mature. They are driving me crazy though because they still haven't shown sex. No idea yet whether they're male or female. Fun watching them grow though.

You are growing some fine looking MJ. Keep it up! I'm really looking forward to watching these plants grow into monsters. I love those long slender sativa leaves and internodal space...impressive.

May I ask why the thought about the longitude and latitude?

Thanks. When I was planning my greenhouse grow this year i figured that plants from approximately the same latitude should grow well here. Got the seeds from the real seed co and the description of this strain sounded intriguing. I believe the seeds were collected at 35° N so a little further south than I am but pretty close.

I had not considered that. According to google when growing outdoors I should focus on seeds bred for Central US and Mediterranean areas 30° N to 45° N. I'd like to grow one of those monsters from The Real Seed Co. Maybe one of these days...

The Early Frost is doing well. Just hoping she handles the heatwave coming this week.

Yeah we're expecting 100°+ temps for the next 3 or 4 days. Plants in greenhouse are going to be baking. Will be watering every day as well as spraying the outside of the fabric pots several times a day to keep the root zone cool. Should be fine. Nice looking plants by the way.

EF still chugging along. She's throwing out pistils like crazy. Seems real early. Thinning out her insides to help against the wpm. Crazy humid for about the last month. She's doing well with the heat, just worried about the humidity. She's got a guard kitty to help with the birds landing on her.

I have given up on outdoor growing because of the weather here. The plants just about get ripe, then the weather changes and the nights become cold and damp. Soon after bud rot sets in and it all goes to trash. These two RP-1O4 solos were left over and I wanted to get in on the outdoor post. So here is my entry, outdoor solo grow. I may stick one in the ground before things are done but it is just to dam hot to even be outside now.




For some strange reason the plants are leaning away from the sun. Idk why.

Yes. They were root bound as solos are and were hurting. This is the second week outside and they have perked up and started to grow again.

Alright, here we go, let the flowering begin. Finished giving everyone their flowering top dress yesterday. Although weirdly my Cretan landraces in the greenhouse have been flowering for a couple weeks already. The Cretan in the ground and the hybrids in the greenhouse are only in preflower. Thinking the multiple toppings on the greenhouse Cretans to keep them under 6.5' caused them to flower before the one in the ground which hasn't been topped. The Napali Highland landraces haven't even thought about flowering yet. Don't even know if the one in the ground is male or female yet. wow...how long are those Napali leaflets and how wide? They're beautiful. That is one cool looking marijuana plant.

Have you noticed a higher magnesium demand from the landraces?

Thanks. The modern hybrids are coming along well also. Most are from seeds i got from a member on another forum who's breeding some great strains. Apples and Bananas × Okie Wedding Cake. Blueberry ×Okie. Death Star × AK -47. Gorilla Jealousy F1 from Seed Supreme. The tomatoes and watermelons are coming along nicely as well. Have gotten a few tomatoes already,.Delicious

Hey golfnrl, your question got me thinking so had to find out. This leaf is one of the bigger fans and it's about 13" long including the stem. The thing that's driving me crazy is they don't want to show sex. After topping the one in the greenhouse started showing strange preflowers with the pistols just barely sticking out, very hard to see. The one in the ground is almost 6' tall and not a preflower one.

That is just so cool...9 (maybe 10) leaflets. I love the way sativa plants grow. I'm curious about them not wanting to show sex though. My guess, based on limited experience, is they will start to show sex when they get around 10 or 11 hours of darkness. .

Forgot to answer your other question. No i haven't noticed a high magnesium demand yet but I'm in my own living soil mix and they have only been given compost teas and homemade LAB. I've noticed in the past most plants show a little magnesium deficiency in early flower in this mix so I've started adding Epsom salt my flowering top dress which I applied last week. mixing up the top dress

I wish my set up allowed me to grow outdoors. I'd say that you have your mix dialed in. My Malawi seems to be a magnesium hawg. I added some Epsom Salts to the rez a couple of days ago to see if I can get them back on track. I was curious if maybe you had a similar experience. My issue could be caused by the coco.
