    COCO COIR African Gas

New grow. New manifold. The Nebula way. https://www.growweedeasy.com/manifold

African Gas. Ace Seeds 60/40 sativa/indica hybrid. 50/50 coco/perlite. 5 gallon pots. Cal/Mag and CX Horticulture Nutrients. Seeds sprouted 12/18/25. They went into their final home 12/25/25. Turned on the autopot system 1/7/26. They grew to six nodes. I cut them back to the third node today. Also removed all growth below that point.

    A Christmas start nice.
I’ve got some snacks and will follow along.
Probably a manifold in my future too so I’ll watch and learn
KIS mix organic living soil from Black Sallow soils in 7gal. pots
Black Swallow Organic Bloom mix top dress before flower.
Reusing soil with Black Swallow nutrient pack between grows
    Maybe some compost teas
    Blumat watering system
Microbial Mass and other microbial boosters(Wallace)
    3x4x6’ tent
    Photontek 465wpro
6” AC Infinity outdoor air in and out, humidifier, dehumidifier, heater, oscillating fan.
    Inkbird controllers heat/humidity

Tied down the new growth today. Yesterday found the obvious calcium deficiency when I opened the tent. Up to this point I was using RO water with these girls. I missed a detail about RO and coco that caused the deficiency. I need to read more to understand exactly what happened. Until that's sorted out I went back to tap water. The deficiency has not spread so I think I'm good. .

Looking good golf! I had the same issues with calcium deficiency when i was using half soil half coco. Took me longer than it should have to figure out why. Following this grow and I’m excited to watch the manifold .. well unfold lol

After my brief calcium problem, Tina and Louise appear to be enjoying their environment. Per Nebula's instructions, each side of the manifold has grown to four nodes. Tina was cut and shaped yesterday and Louise had her appointment today. I've cut them back to the 3rd node and removed the 2nd node on both sides. Before and after pics attached. This cultivar is supposed to have about 30% phenotypes that emit a strong flammable gas aroma. I hope I get that.

Tina has uneven growth tips on one end of the manifold. I cut where I thought appropriate. My OCD prefers symmetry but I'll work with what I get.

These girls are supposed to like strong lights and nutrients. We shall see.

I like the short lateral plant support. The tie downs don't slip as easily for me as they did with a wooden dowel rod.

Today was defoliation day. The plan is to let the girls grow a few days to recover and then flip to flower. The first set of pics are Tina. I think I stunted her. She's short and her stems are fat and stubby. I probably didn't let the nodes mature enough before I topped her. She was a few days behind Louise. We'll see what happens after the flip.

Louise has some growth anomalies that I have tried to point out in the pics. Her structure is better than Tina's.

I've been battling low RH. I've had to put a stand alone humidifier inside the tent. That's along with the ACI humidifier that sits outside the tent.

Thx. I'm anxious to flip to flower. I really want to see how this hybrid grows in the manifold.

Tina and Louise have recovered nicely from their haircut. Today is flip to flower day. We'll start at 12/12 and may change that to 11/13 or 10/14 if the stretch gets out of hand. Next leaf removal will be in about 21 days or right after the stretch is over. I'm curious to see how this 60/40 sativa hybrid grows. I'll drop a net in there in a week or so. Still trying to dial in the tie downs. You can see the gallon jugs. They were a work around in the moment. I'll see how this goes. What I'm finding out with the manifold is the tie downs, at least down low, will not be needed much after the stretch. The scrog net will take over. I will let the girls grow towards the light from 24" and approx 580 PPFD to 18" and a PPFD range of 600 to 1050 throughout flower. This cultivar is supposed to like strong intense light and enough space to develop. The lamp will provide the intensity for sure. It's the space I'm concerned about. Louise looks like she will fill the tent. Tina needs to work a little bit but we will see.

These girls sprouted 12/18/25. They went into the autopots 12/25/25. I started counting veg from that date, so, counting today, 38 days in the vegetative state. In the autopot system the sprouts are top watered until they get rooted in. That's usually 10-14 days. Once the system is turned on, no more top watering. The girls were sufficiently rooted in and the system was turned on 1/7/26.

The rez EC is currently 1.5. The girls started at an EC of .6. I will get that up to a peak of 2.1 - 2.2 during the flower period and then back it off a bit at the end.

              So far so good.

I don't recall having heard of fluxing. The GWE article was interesting. It looks like a manifold taken to the next level. I've got that page book marked for future reference.

Give it a try, if you like making manifolds its a lot of fun, or maybe rewarding is a better term

One week after the flip. It looks like I will need to do some defoliating before I wanted to. I broke a stem on Louise and mended it with masking tape. It's healed up nicely. She never missed a beat.

They look thick and healthy, golf! I also broke a branch a couple months ago. Just snapped. That’s a good idea,to practice on one that’s going to be removed.

Yes. I have a trellis net that will go in the ten in a few days. I've bent a stem or two already but the stretch hasn't really started. I'm curious how this hybrid will develop. It's supposed to have strong side branching from the sativa genes. I'm guessing the indica part will make it grow a little wide, IDK.

When bending stems, to avoid snapping, you need to soften up the stems first. Squeeze and crush them a bit so they soften, then wiggle them back and forth while squeezing. The idea is to soften up the stem before putting the final bend in them. After they may be a bit limp. Just tie them in the position you want. In a few weeks the bend will heal and strengthen. Practice on a stem you would cut anyway. A fine line between making soft and making it mush.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Not on this grow, but I had to soften some woody stems when I had to supercrop. It's different for sure, but it worked. This one was an oops moment. I'm not sure what did but I heard the snap. That's a good idea to practice on a cull. Imma do that.

14 days after the flip. There hasn't been much of a stretch just yet. The front girl, Tina, is about 2-3" shorter than her tent mate, Louise. Tina's PPFD at the center of the canopy is 748. Louise, measured in the center of her canopy is 840 PPFD. Temps are running 80f lights on 70f lights off. RH is up and down in the mid to high 50's. I think it's time to crank up the dehui's in the lung room. The RH needs to nearer to 50% right about now.

Over the past two weeks the veg nutes have been phased out and the rez EC increased to 2.0. The girls will be on Flower nutes til the end. I'm running tap water with a starting EC of .2. I bump that up with Cam/mag to .4 to buffer the solution and give the rest of the nutrients something to bind to. Then add base Coco A&B at 2ml/L, Bloom enhancer, Head Masta, Wilt Gard, and ReGeneRoot at 1 ml/L and Bio Balance at .2 ml/L. I mix nutrients in 10 liter batches for easy application rates.

I'm still learning the manifold process but I like the way these plants are looking. Their leaf tips are just turning yellow. I think I have found their nutrient tolerance. I was planning to defoliate at the 21 day mark from the flip. These girls are bushy. Should I wait to see what happens with the rest of the stretch or go ahead and defole at the 21 day mark regardless?

They look beautiful !!!! I know me giving advice to you is silly but I’m going to give my two cents to see what it’s worth LOL i would at least give them a trim on the bottom , to help get them some oxygen. I would also listen to someone other than me cuz i don’t know much 😂 They look great golf!

Thx AMP. Don't sell yourself short. My gut tells me I should defoliate at 21 days. With your .02 I think I will.

I feel the same as AMP giving you advice but it looks like your rocking and the point of the manifold is concentrating growth to your main buds so I’d say the defol is also focusing growth energy. You know the old saying “we ain’t growing leaves”
