Spider mite life cycle - soil

So I had mites at the end of my last indoor grow. Chopped and dried for 2-3 months now. Left the root ball and pots alone in the basement, around 65f. I wanted to recover the soil from these pots for the next grow and mix it all back in with my fresh dirt batch I have going. I may have enough new soil but I want to mix this in to share nutrients to the whole pile and use it vs running out and needing liquid nutes in the grow with the used soil.

So, anyone know for sure if eggs or even dormant mites would be so at room temp and no food or do they only go dormant when it's cold? I'm assuming 90% of them were removed when I harvested but still, that 10% could be a doosey.

For what it's worth, I have about 30 gallons of new and about 50 gallons of used so I'm not talking just a couple bags. It's about 30$ for 7 gallons but I've found I can cut it with once used soil and succeed in grows so it's a decent savings.

Trial and error? Fml? Prolly do it anyway? Not bragging but I have so much dried now, I don't know why I dropped more seeds.......oh I know, you awesome members and your freedom beans.

I think you may need to sterilize the soil before its reused. I don't grow in soil but others do. Lets see what they say.

Are you in an area where it's warm and sunny,,if you are you can put the soil in black trash bags and put them in the sun for a few days, solarization works well

If I remember correctly you would want it to reach a minimum temperature of 140° for at least 3 days

          Well, Pyro,
Seriously, I would reduce my grow size and buy new soil.
That said, you would also have to have new pots and sterilize your entire grow space. So, mites in just soil may not be the only source.
          Once you have everything "clean",
I would practice IPM (Integrated Pest Management) to reduce future outbreaks. I use coffee grounds and diatomaceous earth sprinkled on top of the soil. I don't have mites when using, even outdoors.

I would follow the above advice and have some "grow safe " or " captain Jack's dead bug" on hand for next grow just to be safe. They don't call spider mites " The Borg" for no reason. Had some on my outdoor grow this year. Thankfully have not had them indoors. Here's some magnified pics of them if you've never seen them up close.
