Scarlet Grapes and Hot Cakes from G2f

Okay gang, the time has come to start my next run. It’s a little early to call it my fall run but that’s what it will be.
I’ll be running Scarlet Grapes and Hot Cakes autos provided by our own @Going2fast.
I promised feedback on the seeds, so I’m going to try to create a bit of a journal. We’ll see how that goes, I’m not making any promises but I’d like to go from germination to smoke repot with at least some posts on each stage to show my approach to our craft.

I’ve got my Black Swallow Soil KIS Organics mix, re-amended with Black Swallow’s amendment pack, Purelife organic EWC, and some Perlite for aeration ‘cause that’s what I had. This will be my 6th run with this soil, so almost 3 years.
I try to keep things simple, I hope to just too dress once or twice in flower. My 7 gallon pots are the minimum size for water only “living soil”.Otherwise, good Canadian well water with Microbial Mass occasionally hand watered in. Usually my soil runs right about 6.7 or 6.8 according to my Bluelabs soil probe meter.
I’m using my usual Blumat watering system. The drip rings are new to me, usually I’ve just used the basic drippers or the drip tape when outside in 15g fabric pots. I figure the rings will be easier to move out of the way to top dress.

    Some pics to start:
-A freshly cleaned tent ready to go.
-Germination in paper towel , no soak. at About 21c (70F) between two small saucers. About 48 hours for 3 seeds, 1 took another day. 100% germination, yes!
    -Straight into final containers
    -starting to break groun
-mixing soil approximately 8 weeks before planting to allow microbes time to break things down

My winter grow will be a few of Going2fast scarlet seeds. By popular demand. Don't have the hot cakes so I'm looking forward to watching this one.

I did a few Scarlet Grapes and all of them had a little different look and flavor. All delicious however. It will be a good time growing that dudes artwork.

Thx! I’m always working to improve it.
Good eye, yes that is Kerdi board. I used it for a tile project last year it is cool stuff.
The magnets on those ACI lights suck (the lights are nice) so I needed another plan. The Kerdi board is stiff enough that it fits tight but I can still slide them up or down as needed based on plant size

Germination went well , but some challenges after that.
I dropped all the sprouted seed into their final 7 gal fabric pots. I hand watering with a with a 10ml syringe.
The Hot Cakes came up happy and are off and running but the Scarlet Grapes had troubles. One couldn’t escape its shell and wore its helmet for too long despite my efforts the other came up but was not happy and has stalled out.
I will cull both, although I think they could survive, as autos they have lost too much time to continue

time is still on your side for now .as G2F has hinted. this time bury them a little deeper so the helmet get taken off by the medium.

Ya I did pop two more no big deal. One is already sprouted and in the pot.
I’m always trying to bury them not too deep to make it easy for them to break ground, but maybe a bit deeper would help with removing the shell. I usually shoot for about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch deep
