    Simply Kush

    3 weeks going on.
This is OG Kush. Not Kushberry. Not Kushkarushka. Not Kushyomama. It's just Kush. The OG designation means nothing to me because it is definitively undefined. I could go with Ocean Grown since I can see the ocean. But that's a stretch.
Had a battle with leaf miners. It's moth time and I've seen some creepy looking ones I do not recognize and a leaf in the lower right plant looks to have been munched on. Got the fans going and haven't had issue.
Lower right has an additional Scarlet Runtz planted 6 days after the others as a precaution against an underdeveloped OG Kush that has since gotten its act together.

Tried my hand at Kush a few times. Most seemed slow and delicate and all were short. Do Indicas seem more difficult to cultivate?

I've only grown Indica and Indica dominant. For the past few years all I've grown is Going2fast seeds. I believe those have all been Indica leaning and some have maxed my tent height. From what I understand, a straight Kush is going to be short and bushy. Don't know about delicate. Don't really know what a delicate pot plant is. I treat all mine the same because I am limited of options and knowledge about what strain wants 12.5 of something and what strain wants 12.6.
Until I marry rich or win the lottery, they all my bitches and all gonna get the same treatment! Word to your mother!!

I have grown Indicas and Satva's and a Kush is usually a hybred cross leaning one way or the other, my favorite to grow and smoke, they have also been the biggest yeilders too. Misty Kush was my favorite until Nirvana switched the parents around but kept the strain name the same

nice lookin' plants. Whatcha' feedin' em? I like the clean tips and healthy green. Is that your water bottle I see?

          #6
Thanks! I've been using Botanicare since going coco. However long ago I bought a gallon of their veg nutes. Several years. The dose is only a teaspoon per gallon, and I still have 1/4-1/3 gallon. But I've gone through multiple bloom bottles. Until my current veg bottle runs out, I get down with Botanicare. Also, their Cal-mag and bloom enhancer.
Fans got rid of leaf miner laying insects and whatever chewed on a leaf. The modern miracle of wind, wot?
If you are looking at the water bottle in the lower right then yes, it is my watering bottle. Mix 2 gallons separately and use the bottle to dose out. The hose lets me get to the back with minimal ruffling and bud touching.

They're autos. 18/6 and open tent the whole time. Not a lick of real darkness. Bestest reason to grow autos! No way I could reasonably expect to grow fem until shorter days and southwest setting sun.
Now, I'll start mixing a little bloom nutes with the veg and transition to full bloom by week 5.

Wow that is a good size for an auto just barely or maybe not showing signs of flower.

The sizes are wonky. Willy wonky. The shortest (front right) is a full 12" shorter than the taller two in the back. Front left is 8" shorter. I need to pay more attention when I shuffle the plants around after they sprout. The backs always seem taller than the fronts, but the fronts get more light because of my front door.

Found a moth. Might be a palm flower moth. Makes sense since there are flowering palm trees out my window, across the street, down the block, on the neighbor's balcony...
          Best picture I could get.

          5 weeks.
This is the widest height range in a strain I've had. Back two hit 3' before getting the bends. Front right is still rocking two LST'd plants. Front left is what I thought a Kush is supposed to look like. Light is as high as I can get it. Gonna be pushing HLG's minimum distance recommendations.
Half a gallon a day. Still finding moths and moth eatings.

That kush plant, do you mean wide node spacing? What's a kush supposed to look like? That bottom pic looks like two plants in one pot?
Yeah, I had to ditch the HLG recc's in my current grow...they won't care.

          #9
Well, so, I thought Kush plants were going to be like the one in the front left. It's bushy and most everything that's worth porn is on the ends of the stems. If the two in back were a foot shorter, I wouldn't be in my current kerfuffle. Maybe three of my past grows have pushed my light height limit. All others have been closer to front left.
While writing this, I looked up grow info on OGK. Back two are typical height. It's the fronts that aren't pulling their weight.
Front right pot (bottom pic) is two plants. Left began as the OG Kush runt and was supplemented with a G2F Scarlet Runt(z). I just realized the irony. Is that irony? Maybe just happenstance.

Oh. My bad. I thought the twofer was the one on the left but I see the camera angle now. IDK about happenstance but two runtz together? The possibilities are endless.

In the first picture, the runt and Runtz are on the right. They're on the left in the second. Third picture is the full monty.
The runt of the OG Kush is a laid down Sally at 16", if you follow the trunk.

Hello, people! Welcome to a special report: Shit! What the fnck do I do?
It's a little optically illusioned in the picture, but I've outgrown my tent. Unfurled, the back two would be 4" from the top of the tent. As it is, I'm down to less than 6" from my light, and they are still growing. The Kush in the front right twofer has decided to take off and is crowding out the S. Runt.
Front left got grounded to be in line with front right. The light got moved as close to the front of the tent as I could move it, considering I have to make room for the two fans. I'm just this close to pulling the top off my tent and mounting the light outside and bringing the plants up to the same level. Two things keeping me from doing that are I can't lift my left arm much higher than my belly button and my apartment would always be lit. Sleep time included.
Something else I could do is pull the back plants out and put them in front of my tent.
Of all my protestations against dimming lights, it is an option I don't want to talk about.

Well $h!t Shirley. What do you mean unfurled? Have you super-cropped them? Are they on the 12/12? Cut that to 11/13 or 12/14. Can you gain any space by putting your two fans outside the tent, & leave it open during lights on?

I know the feeling when your plants outgrow the space, sux.

and then there’s the other option that we won’t mention.

use a light meter to measure the ppfd. I think max for flower is 1050. That little dial on your lamp can help you maintain the right ppfd. I’m guessing maxed out the Elite 360 is cranking out the umol’s.

Back left plant. Take a look at the bamboo pole just before it disappears behind the front left plant. Just behind the pole is the bend. Both back plants and, to some degree, the front left plant are super-cropped. Hell, they're all bent, but front right is more just pulled down. LST, I think you kids call it.
My Elite is either 100% off or on, or 0% off or on. I have no method of checking any settings other than those two. 18/6 is the schedule since they're autos.
The only way to move the fans is to move them outside the tent, move the light, or deconstruct the tent.
Since the front two have gotten the memo and started growth spurts, further super-cropping of the backs is becoming less an option.

Dang dawg, your options are quickly diminishing. Saw the pole, didn't see the bends. Photone is a free app for either android or iOS phones, if ya have one of those.

Damnit! They grew a couple more inches overnight!! I do not want a flowering stretch!!! 3'-4' is the height I saw online. They are at 4', as they sit. Unfurled adds another 10". Gonna get up and personal inside my tent with all the flaps open to see what necks can get broken and where I can lay their floppy heads.
This ginger don't cell phone. To the consternation and amusement of the rest of the world, I don't have a cell phone. No car. No cable TV. I shop for myself. Pay bills with a check. I could read a map before I could drive. I have never Tweeted or Facebooked and the one picture I ever posted of myself online was deleted. The only way I could go more low-tech is to live in a tent in the woods.
Having said that, would you believe I'm the guy in the apartment complex who people ask for cell phone and computer help? Would you believe I used to teach AutoCAD, Revit, and 3ds Max and set up online training courses for those programs?

I like technology, but I also like low tech. Maybe because I was told sometimes the old ways are the best ways. I have found that to be true. Ask anyone what a cartographer is? Reading a map? I'm not sure that people born after the 1970's can read a map. GPS is great and all to get you where you want to go, but it also tracks every single move you make for the man and the retailers. No cell phone? That makes it cumbersome to post pics. I basically stopped writing checks when the banking laws changed and they took away the float. You know, the living from paycheck to paycheck thing. Social media has done little to improve our society. It only brings out the worst in people near as I can tell. That one pic of yourself? It's still out there somewhere.

Be gentle when you break their necks.

Do your buds hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow? Damnit DD where is your broom? Hit them again, or tie them in knots.
