Looking good odie It will do that 10 to as many as it wants, usually 13 is the number i get if i do a apical dominate grow. When the lateral branches off the main stem become irregular the TOP will show itself real good.and you will know its about to flower, Patience here is the key. Don't love it to death. Happy growing.

Hmm... well... I'm going to be the asshole.
Your plant is small for being three days short of three weeks old. As healthy as it is, it should be bigger. Figure people will top their plants as early as the third or fourth node. You do not have enough internodal spacing to get in there for topping. I'm attaching a picture of my current grow at 3 weeks for comparison. In my experience, even these are small for 3 weeks.

Absolutely keep it growing. Being your first, it will be the best dope you ever grew!

…21 days from sprout…although, somewhat slowly, it still seems healthy and is still progressing…still, nothing definitive on the sex

Coming along a little slow but still doing well. The sex will be determined soon. Topping ,if done will be after the 4 th node. Might be time for some more nutrients. What Grow Light are you using, odie seems a little weak. To weak of a light spectrum will make it stretch upward towards what light it can find. When Gibberlins hormones are released the distance between nodes become very long and making for a stretchy plant. Where's me pipe!

They look good and healthy. You are doing great....Looks like they need a bump in light intensity.

…today’s pics…my LED lighting is a 182 watt GEL strip…I’m running blues and whites 20/4 at just under 20 inches from the plant top. I suppose I could increase the lighting to 24/0 and/or decrease the distance between the LED strip and the plant. Not quite ready to bite the bullet yet and purchase additional lighting. The temp in the tent may contribute to the slow growth…mid 60s mostly with plenty of airflow. In any case, the leaves seem full and the stretch between nodes doesn’t appear to be too significant yet…thanks for the advice and encouragement!

Yes that temp will limit growth 75-80f is better at your stage. If you have a way to warm it up do it. You don’t need constant exhaust just air movement in the tent and some exhaust. that can help to raise temps

So…saw this very small ball on the second node this morning…haven’t seen any indications of early, pre flower pistils…anyone care to comment?
I recently purchased some Barney’s Farm seeds through one of the GWE recommended distributors. I’ve already got another seedling started for eventual transplant outside for a full season grow.
As much as it would break my heart to have to kill this first grow, I’d rather not waste limited space and resources on a male plant that I have no intention taking to maturity.
Thanks again y’all…especially you dirtymike…where IS my lighter?

Barneys farm seeds is a good place to start with seeds. Pineapple chunk is a good to grow. To early to tell on the pic. I don't see any balls yet. 14 April around here is the time to start outside grows. When you see the humming birds its time. If your in a legal state outside is where nature thrives and so will your plants, without the hassles that come with indoor grows. Keep growing and you will be hooked.

odie; how about a little comparison? Same light. Running 8/16, w/b. Temp. 60*-80*, depending on outside temp. Germ. 3-15, potted 3-28. 2nd 2, germ. 4-3.

Thanks for the comparison insight. Growing in the basement, here just off the Chesapeake Bay where temps dipped overnight into the mid 30s. Didn’t get below 63 in the basement, but could still use a bump in temp…thanks shadycon

Basement dank, watch out for the mold down there. Ive seen dope grown in 63 F . Get a small heater to cut the chill and all will be well. The smaller the lung room in a basement the easier it is to control the temps and humidity swings. Dont sit the pots on the concrete floor the roots dont like it neither do leprechauns, paz

Thanks DM…my pots sit on a 4X2 adjustable table…added a small space heater to the mix almost a week ago…running a steady 73 at 43% humidity inside the tent…the results have been positive…28 days from sprout and it got a haircut this morning. Should make a decent base…whadda ya think?
