    Amber Up!

I am growing 4 different strains and they will simply not amber up. They are at day 100 and look great. By all outward indications they are ready to harvest except for showing some amber. I mean almost none. I do not desire a lot of amber, at most 10% but they simply squat there and refuse to advance. They are mostly all cloudy and should be good but I use the amber as a gauge to harvest as I have some difficulty telling late stage clear from cloudy. Any tricks I'm missing here?
Current Grow: 1 GG4, 2 Hot Cakes, 1 Sweet Gelato Autos
    3 gallon cloth pots
    30"x30"x60" tent
    Spider Farmer SE3000
    Coco Pearlite mix
    GH Trio, Silica, Cal-Mag

I always have to use different lights. My grow light shows different than front door light shows different than ambient light, and so on.
But if 4 strains are not showing, maybe it's just a thing.
    C'mon, mule!

Are they still taking up lots of water or has it dropped right off?

Amber of trichomes is a strange beast sometimes. They can go for ever without much happening then over night you can see a huge change and in a day or two the whole lot goes a golden amber.

Im of the view that stressing them can also bring on earlier amber but I also think a cost comes with that, reduced flower development, they just seem to stop growing but they amber up.

I don't like stressing them though. I've never seen a plant do better because it was stressed.

Thanks o Great Red Faced One. I took the plants outside and found that there was more amber than I thought. Still not quite there but on the way. Did not occur to me to change the lighting.

I’m with Bluey on the water intake part. I use the trifecta assessment, pistils, trichomes,’water intake. I’m with you on the 10%amber and following that hasn’t done me wrong. Follow your gut, you’ve got the experience.

I don't know if it will help, but maybe turn the light schedule down to just a few hours of light per day. Like to 5 hours of light. I know some things like apple/pear trees don't get super sweet till exactly mid-october in the midwest regardless of the temps. Maybe it will tell your plant to hubba hubba because Winter is real close.
                  Just a thought.
