    Recommendation for soil ph tester

I have one now and it always reads the same, I had one I got from amazon and didn’t feel like it was correct either. They both pretty much showed 7 or very close even when I never ph my water over 6.4 and started phing at 5.8 to try and lower soil ph.

You either have trust issues or bad luck with gear. What are the brands, and have you calibrated them?
Water pH in does not always equal runoff pH in soil.
    C'mon, mule!

If you need to test the pH in soil then an Apera PH60 with soil probe, which is costly but will give you the most accurate reading. I think they call the probe a spear or something like that.

I use the above mentioned apera ph60. I make a slurry with a soil sample using distilled water. Dip probe into the mud and see what it reads. You can check tds (ppm/ec) also to make an assumption on how much food is left for the plants.

Another vote on Apera. I did a comparison of one and a cheap Amazon one here a few years back. Can't find the link now for some reason.

The link is still there. It's my favourite post on here since I have been a member here. I think we have all been through that to some extent. You called the post "A tale of two pH mters" or something like that. I've linked to it quite a few times.

I've been having a few issues with a couple plants and although I don't think this is the direct cause I thought I'd share this with yuns. So I decided to check the calibration on my ph pen. It's a cheap Amazon special. Allprettyall. I know right. But I've kept up with calibration and all since I got it so everything is good
