You’re absolutely right. Just wish I had some grafting hormone. This storm is bullshit. It’s still pouring but the wind is done. Duct tape and poles are holding up. I think I sealed her pretty tightly and given the season I’m not terribly concerned about pests. Moisture and rot I’m worried about because of the storm.
thoughts on the other tree? Can I cut off the top half if it’s completely soaked? The trichomes are probably over 30% Amber by now but I’ve got rain for 2 more days. What should I do

30% is harvest time, in my book.
Broken, unrecoverable, WPM magnets are harvestable, in my book.

Looking at that duct tape is making my ginger tingle. It might be much for the plant to breathe.
Can you do something like hanging branches from the stake and wrapping the split lighter, so the wrap is not what is supporting the branches? Maybe add a few more stakes around the plant to hang from?
Seriously, people 'round here deal with breaks from fine size buds. But big, wet, and windy buds like yours need more than a lot of tape.

Lolol I am a fellow ginger. I’ve got 2 plants with 2 situations. One is wet and harvest ready.
The other is busted to shit but still standing. My only choice was to wrap and seal tightly because the split was so bad it was twisting and breaking more as I was holding it up. I’ve got as many poles as I can in there with all the tall branches upright. It’s just too heavy to do anything else. The top half has to be close to 50+lbs. it took me and Justin to hoist it up just so I could wrap it. Took 4 wraps just to get it to stand. If I even try to loosen it it’ll for sure be the final snap.

about to chop this soaked plant. Wish me luck. I’ve already been plucking rotten buds off it for the past week. Just little spots here and there. I gave it a shake and trimmed a branch to check under the scope but Jfc it is saturated.

I’ve never harvested wet buds. Advice?

        My beard is longer.
Give what you lop a good shake and hang it somewhere with good ventilation. Y'all gonna be wet for a long time!

Well…just got back in town and had left someone here with my plants. Unfortunately that crack was just too severe and I had to cut out the top half. I still have plenty growing and the bottom half is bigger than all of last years plants combined. So overall, I’m happy. Lesson learned. Now I know I need to stake the upper branches.

And your beard is definitely longer than mine. I only have peach fuzz on my girl face lol.

I saw your picture. You would look silly with a beard.

Ended up getting a decent amount from the wet batch. It’s airy but I have a feeling it’s going to pack a punch. I also gave 4 jars away to my petsitter who I left to dry and start curing while I was out of town.

So far so good! Chopped the top half and pruned the shit out of her. I was in Alaska and then cape cod so she exploded while I was gone and I told the pet sitter not to touch. So after a chop and massive haircut, buds are thickening up and the yard smells loooovely.

only half the tree has almost harvest ready buds. And some of those branches, only the colas are ready. Got any advice?

this is my first large outdoor grow. Inside is much more manageable Jfc. I’m a hardcore organic gardener and thought I’d throw some in the mix. I didn’t expect this so now I don’t really know how to proceed. Im also used to autos which are much more consistent.

Any advice on the different stages of flowering harvest would be helpful! After as much shit as she’s put me through I do not want to fuck up the final stage.

I’ll need some guidance and tips on curing too. I’ve not dried and cured more than a few oz at a time. I typically use the trays from my dehydrator (no I do not dehydrate lol) and I do a wet trim with a trim machine. Those are fantastic btw give it a try. It’s totally worth the $90 or whatever it was. Should I get one of those hanging nets? Again, it’s the quantity of harvest. And if I’m upgrading my setup I’d rather get the right shit upfront.
