    RDWC Grow

This is my 10th RDWC grow and maybe my last for a while. It depends on how well I can maintain them through the grow, the previous times they got away from me, The biggest problem I have is not being able to get behind them and clean them up, this time I think the net will help and I can work from above. I dont bend so good anymore,
    I have growing
1-Godfather OG from Blimburn, I have never grown before.
1-Pineapple Chunk From Barneys, its a great strain
2-Garlic Storm's going and if you look, you can see one is doing pretty good and one has what looks like a cal/mag deficiency going on even though they are all in the same water. One of the down sides of growing in a RDWC setup is you cant isolate a plant and feed it differently. I have had this twice before and both times they straightened up in flower. If this one doesn't I will put it in a DWC bucket. Some girls just like to be treated special. We shall see.
Feeding Jacks 321 with Open Sesame and some other supplements mostly focused on roots, the lights are Chilled Lighting 3X 500's. I have 3 in the room but since I dont use the 2 center grow sites I just use 2 of them. With RDWC I expect them to double in the stretch but leave room incase they triple or quadruple.

5 days after the flip. I should have done a much heavier defol before the flip

That's really pretty 😍. I'm way too intimidated with a hydro grow. I do want to try sometime in the future. Super intriguing way of growing as is aeroponics. You got a nice set up there. How long do you recycle before changing the water?

In DWC I change the water every week generally in the RDWC I generally change the water at the start with a low dose of nutrients and then add more and more water up to the flip then I change it out to a low dose of flower nutrients and add to it as needed. The problem with res changes is your probably dumping a portion of your bacteria culture when dump the old mix so I dont change is as often and never bone dry. I also measure the PPM's before the change and then again after I fill it with clean water so I have an idea of what's left in the reservoir.

Some lovely looking plants you got yourself there! They are loving that hydro set up. Do you add any kind of Fulvic acids to your reservoir? Maybe they come in the nutrients your using possibly?

I remembered when my grow looked like a space ship 🤣🤣 eating some mushrooms and sitting there, looking at the fire blanket twist and turn. Some trippy times for sure 🌈🤩

Then I found out that flat white painted walls reflect like 90% or more of light while those space blankets max out at 70%. Paint the wall was a noticable improvement. I couldn't go in there without sunglasses. The whole room glowed. Then I purchased tents so I don't burn out my retinas anymore lol

Nice I'm trying to collect all the knowledge I can about hydroponic growing because I definitely want to give it a chance one of these times..... I didn't know about the whole fulvic acid thing with hydroponics I would think it would clog up sprayers and whatnot..... But I suppose it depends on what kind of system you have going. I would probably need with DWC if I did try. For now, knowledge 🧠. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

SB: I just found out that a brix refractometer cost $20 only???? Like the one that you have to actually look through not a digital display one. I might actually invest in that 20 bucks is nothing I'm curious about the brix of my plants. Especially with the living soil growing

I use the $20 one, the only other thing you need is a method to press the sap out of the leaves. I use a garlic press.

The down side of hydro is the flavor and smell are not as strong as soil grow unless you get the brix level up there. My theory, and I probably "borrowed" it is the roots in soil are always working to find food and in water grows there is no work involved. Its sort of like a cow raised in a field that has to walk to eat is a better steak verses a cow that gets fed in one place its whole life.

It's the same with hydroponic strawberries, they just taste like water. They're huge but have no taste.

I went to town on that Garlic storm next to the God Father OG, but I bet it bounces back. I have been doing the Schwazzing thing for a few years now, it works great for me and so far no hermies but I think these are full on Indica's and I usually grow Sativa leaning hybrids. How do you know where too far is unless you cross the line? LOL

End of week 3 of flower, 5 weeks from the flip to 12/12. I like the way the both Garlic Storms are stacking bud sites but I hope the stretch is over for the over achiever. If I had left all those leaves on that pheno it would be through the roof by now. No idea why the other one is not looking as healthy, the lights are identical and the nute mix is the same. I am liking the way the godfather OG is bulking up, my Blimburn seeds concern is over and the pineapple chunk from barneys is everything I could ask for but Barneys Farm is a solid go to breeder

They are consistent as hell, never been disappointed with their gear. Ethos is my go to for top shelf and In-house is impressing me but Barneys is always rock solid from my experience

5 Weeks into flower, the Pineapple Chunk is doing great the Godfather OG is doing good, the 2 different phenos of the Garlic Storm are night and day apart and I cant say that I am happy with either of them. One is going to be a pain to trim and the leaves look like shit, they are all in the same nutrient mix so I dont know what its problem is. The other may end up as nothing but Popcorn buds. I guess time will tell, but I am officially on the fence with in house genetics. Bananacane and Slurricane #7 better kick ass or they are off my preferred breeder list

                Chopped dried and now curing.
The Garlic Storm that I went over board on the scwhazzing was nothing but popcorn buds I didnt have time or desire to deal with so it went in the trash. The other Garlic Storm had a pretty high leaf to bud ratio and took some time to trim but in the end I got a little over 6 zips of decent size and density buds from it. Samples were pretty good but I dont notice anything garlicy about it, maybe after it cures for a while, a little keif in the pasta sauce is a good thing. The God Father OG is not bad, I did a sample for breakfast and it does give you the munches, yield was a little disappointing at 4.5 zips of fairly small. buds. The King of the crop was Pineapple Chunk coming in at 11.5 zips of big rock hard nugs and a great leaf to bud ratio. This was my 2nd time growing the PA Chunk and this one was just like the previous grow. I am have never had a disappointment from Barneys gear.
My lesson learned on this grow is Indica's are less tolerant of Scwhzzing than Sativa's, maybe thats why they have those huge leaves
