I’ve been smoking cannabis for around two years now, and I’ve been extremely interested in the effects of each strain, and figuring out the differences between terps over that time. Me and my buddy have been on leafy every day looking into strains and their thc percentage, parent strains etc. We want to start growing soon with two parent strains to create a new one. Where is a good place to buy seeds? What equipment do we need? Any answers or any other general advice would be awesome and much appreciated.

I would suggest you learn the basics of cultivation before you dive into crossbreeding.
If you're going to eventually be crossbreeding then I would start with photo period seeds of both cultivars. More than likely you'll get a few males in the seeds that you've sprouted. Once you've grown them and have identified which are which you can cull the males and collect their pollen. With their pollen you can now crossbreed the male pollen of one of the cultivars you want with the female flowers of the other and get crossbred seeds.
There is much more that goes into breeding like stability, etc. but that is the cliff notes version of what you are trying to do.
