Tent pole repair or new frame

Hey All, I just got a 1x1x2 meter tent for nothing, but it doesn't have any poles. I've been looking all over the internet for what I can use. PVC is too bendy. Aluminum tubing, copper tubing and curtain rails are too expensive. Galvanized electric conduit or wood dowel may work. I'm looking for the least expensive to get the job done. Has anyone got any experience they can pass on? I have both 16mm and 20mm plastic corners to use. Any advice will be appriciated. Thanks.

EMT. (Thin wall electrical conduit) Cheap and easy to bend. Yet strong. You can probably borrow a bender from someone you know.

Try what Mollisol suggested. I just used that conduit to make a high cfm kit to keep the sides of my tent from sucking in. Should work for ya.

I used schedule 80 PVC to build my outdoor screen house. With an 8 foot span it has no droop and with elbows is really easy to put up and take down.

I use 1/2" EMT to make horizontal tent poles to support the net I use for scrog and to solidify the tent.

You'll need some corner brackets to connect them all.

Thanks all. I'll shop around and see what I come up with. The metal conduit idea seems the best so far. Hm. I'll keep you posted on what I find and end up doing.

Hello All. Still working on it. I got some free PVC wire conduit, 20mm OD, 16.5mm ID, 2.5 meter. I'm thinking the least expensive way may be to use Bamboo that fits inside this PVC and then fill it with pressurized expanding foam. Metal wire conduit is the best option so far but it costs. I don't want a freeby tent to turn into the same price as a new one. Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. Till then... : )

To finish this thread, I ended up electrical conduit. Yea, it's a little expensive, but in the end it was ridgid and made a solid tent. Bamboo wasn't good because it didn't have the same diameter over a 2 meter length, hence the bamboo didn't work well inside a pvc tube and then filled with expanding foam. In short, use Electrical conduit unless you can find something even better. Cost of Conduit is around 50 units to do the job.
