I recently purchased an acinfinity 2x4 grow tent kit and started my first 2 seedlings 8 days ago.
I'm following the GWE bubbleponics tutorial almost 100% (even bought almost everything for the bubbleponics setup directly from the provided links), and up until yesterday everything was going quite swimmingly, but have run into a problem. Here's the timeline so far:
Soaked 2 seeds in water for 16 hours, then moved them to a wet paper towel on a plate. These were the germination instructions from the compamy i bought the seeds from, and I followed them to the letter.
Three days later, they had about 3/4" long taproots (seems really fast based on everything I've read! ), and i got the tent and hydroponic setup all ready, and put them in rapid rooters.
One day after that they both showed their cotyledon leaves, one day after that one started its first set of true leaves.
At that point, we started experiencing a very unusually dry spell where I'm at, and humidity dropped from 50ish to 30-35%, and I started to fret a little because that's way lower than suggested for seedlings. I ordered a humidifier that will play nice with my tent controller, but in the meantime thought I'd try adding humidity domes made from cut up water bottles. I cut both the bottom and top off so its more of a sleeve, and tried to set it up so the humidity probe read around 75 when down near the leaves.
One day later (which was yesterday), they have itty bitty tiny little second and third sets of true leaves, but also fuzzy whit growth down at the base of the stem on one of them, and I'm panicking a little.
They look healthy and seem to be growing pretty fast, but I'm concerned about the mold. I took the bottles away and added a small humidifier (its all I have on hand right now), but it's not touching the dry air, which is still low 30s.
What should I do?
Also, do these little ladies look leggy? Two inches tall, I had the light at the top of the tent and was running it on low, but yesterday I moved it to 18" above the plants an increased power to 40%, per the directions from acinfinity.
