Help! Seedling humidity and fuzzy white mold

I recently purchased an acinfinity 2x4 grow tent kit and started my first 2 seedlings 8 days ago.

I'm following the GWE bubbleponics tutorial almost 100% (even bought almost everything for the bubbleponics setup directly from the provided links), and up until yesterday everything was going quite swimmingly, but have run into a problem. Here's the timeline so far:

Soaked 2 seeds in water for 16 hours, then moved them to a wet paper towel on a plate. These were the germination instructions from the compamy i bought the seeds from, and I followed them to the letter.

Three days later, they had about 3/4" long taproots (seems really fast based on everything I've read! ), and i got the tent and hydroponic setup all ready, and put them in rapid rooters.

One day after that they both showed their cotyledon leaves, one day after that one started its first set of true leaves.

At that point, we started experiencing a very unusually dry spell where I'm at, and humidity dropped from 50ish to 30-35%, and I started to fret a little because that's way lower than suggested for seedlings. I ordered a humidifier that will play nice with my tent controller, but in the meantime thought I'd try adding humidity domes made from cut up water bottles. I cut both the bottom and top off so its more of a sleeve, and tried to set it up so the humidity probe read around 75 when down near the leaves.

One day later (which was yesterday), they have itty bitty tiny little second and third sets of true leaves, but also fuzzy whit growth down at the base of the stem on one of them, and I'm panicking a little.

They look healthy and seem to be growing pretty fast, but I'm concerned about the mold. I took the bottles away and added a small humidifier (its all I have on hand right now), but it's not touching the dry air, which is still low 30s.

    What should I do?

Also, do these little ladies look leggy? Two inches tall, I had the light at the top of the tent and was running it on low, but yesterday I moved it to 18" above the plants an increased power to 40%, per the directions from acinfinity.

Picture is kind of fuzzy but I would just take a wait and see attitude for now. You could try taking a dropper and put a drop or two of whole milk if it's powdery mildew on the area. I don't think the milk will hurt your seedling but I'm not sure as I've never put milk on a seedling to kill PM.

They are to wet. Let the pots dry out a bit. If you are fighting mold, low humidity is your friend.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Thanks so much for tips, I'm just a little unclear on how to get things drier, other than removing the humidity domes (which i did).

The rapid rooter is very wet, but thats because there's a hose touching it in the net pot, according to the instructions here:
This step-by-step grow guide will teach you how easy it is to grow cannabis using bubbleponics. This method provides consistent huge yields and a quicker harvest compared to most other grow methods.

I imagine if I move the water hose away it will dry out REALLY quickly. Is that what yall are suggesting?

Do you have fan(s) blowing on them?

6" inline exhaust fan and a clip on fan both running pretty low. Should I turn those up?

I'm sure the mold only started cause I tried to fight the 35% humidity with the bottles, and only one of the two seedlings got mold. I just dunno how to fix it, and right now theyre in very low humidity.

Right now I've managed to get the overall humidity in the tent up to low 40s instead of 35 with a small humidifier but it's pretty weak and if I turn the ventilation up that'll drop back down pretty quickly.

I have 2 humidifiers I don't need. One has a gallon res and the other has a gallon and a half. I can run my 5 x 5 filling it once in the morning and once at night. If you need something larger hit me up and I'll sell them cheap. The gallon and a half is an AC Infinity T3 so you can control your humidity by programming it into the humidifier and the probe will turn it on and off without you having to deal with it. The other is a Vicks humidifier. It works great but doesn't have thermostat control like the ACI.

If you're in a low humidity area you may need 2 to get to the desired humidity.

Once I hit my target humidity the ACI humi keeps it topped off without much humidity needed and I usually only need to fill it once a day after that.

Try a couple of drops of whole milk on your seedling. Milk will kill PM.

Normal humidity in my area is high enough I didn't expect this to be a problem. In fact I was much more likely to need a dehumidifier.

We are having a very abnormal dry spell, unfortunately at the worst possible time for my new baby plants, and I caused a problem by trying to compensate in the interim.

Tried a couple drops of milk (actually heavy cream plus water cause nobody in the house drinks milk), and I turned the water pump off to try to let them dry out a little but will keep a VERY close eye on them throughout the day and keep the rapid rooters from drying completely.

I do already have the acinfinity t3 on its way, but won't be here til Wednesday. Probably gonna hit Walmart for something better than the tiny barely-effective humidifier I have in there until the T3 gets here

                Thanks much everyone!

Don't waste your money. Just wait for the T3. They ship pretty quickly.

Adjust the water to just hit the bottom or your rapid rooter and let it wick up rather than having the tube at the top. They are leggy wanting more light

edit: And some air moving across the top and I think that mold will go away. I have cut a plastic water bottle bottom off and use it to keep seedlings moist before like a little greenhouse

It's hard to tell if the mold is dying off, but it doesn't seem to be expanding at least.

And the roots definitely seem happy. This is 10 days after starting seed germination, 7 days after putting germinated seeds into rapid rooters and the bubbleponics system.

Thanks again for all the tips!
