It seems that commercial growers are cheating in the amount of THC contained in their product, some by 50% less than reported, damn!

That's the way it always goes...producers chase the $$, cut corners, reduce the quality, and who knows what else all in the name of profits. I don't fault a business for trying to max profits but don't cut the quality of the product and lie about it. Next thing you know some producer will introduce (i.e. CUT it with something) some type of 'infusion' with another chemical or drug. Not for me. I'll grow my own.

If your lucky enough to have legal weed , I think you should support the system even if it’s not perfect. The black market can be much worse. I’m sure there are some that are good too, but most will choose the $’s over clean, honest weed.

Although far from perfect, there is actually more to legalization than that here. Including in Ontario where I live(and I suspect federally too ), 97 different tests for pesticides and contaminates are performed by third party labs (not the producer, and not the government).
This is not the only quality control they do. Ill post some more information for those who are interested below .

Nah I’m not a fan of the big corporate producers at all. Theyve made it really hard for smaller producers to take part and I think that sucks. It just about making money and not growing good bud and taking care of people.
I just think we’re lucky to have legal weed and I’m hoping in time they can work out a better system, unfortunately a lot of good small producers will not survive.
We’ve been regulating alcohol for 100 years and it’s still problematic so who knows, just hoping 🤞

THC-A percentages (there is no THC in weed) before and after trimming/sifting may be completely accurate. Might even be the best of the best of the crop was chosen for label testing and the worst of the worst chosen for reports.
RDA contents and food vitamins and minerals can be inaccurate. Somewhere along the lines someone tested, say, a fresh Roma tomatoe and said it contained this and that much of this and that. Since then, multiple Roma tomatoe crops are able to be produced in a year because of breeding, fertilizing, and early harvesting. If you have ever seen a truckload of Roma tomatoes coming straight from the field, they are mostly green and forced to redden up. Those tomatoes will not contain the same vitamins and minerals as the originally tested vine ripened Roma. A more accurate nutrition label should say, 'May contain up to...'
The products I buy often have a terp breakdown. They say, up front, 'Potential.'

I've never tried to Dab. I know it's your only way you partake Gingerbeard isn't it ? For me it's too much of investment and takes way too much weed to produce it. I'm getting foggy enough slowly coming out of a life changing crappy dream. I'm too much of a light weight physically an mentally to handle it i think but i've never done it. It's too strong and i got lots of prodjects i do being on my own . The weed plant i grow is clean an pure it's for myself an friends. Some of my friends much younger have tried it or do it dabs but it lays them out, can't do nothin and i like being productive during the day. Only evenings an lightly during daytime. But that's me and too each theire own on how they medicate to drown out this shitty new world order were forced to live under. I did'nt vote for it

Interesting article, and I think it is happening here as well. My brother told me he no longer asks about the THC content, instead he goes by terpene profiles. He said it gets him higher than going by THC levels.

It is possible if not probable that scent is being applied to dried product...they use food die to crate pretty orchids,

I have personally fallen into this trap. I always went for the highest THC the dispensery had. Some times over 30%. They had a huge sale on some lower THC strains. 21%. I can't tell the difference between the two as far as potency

This is so true Mollisol i've also experienced the same effect when i've purchased from dispensary do to running low. There's a glut of weed here so prices are way down. When i go buy some it's usually no more than $ 4-6 a gram and indica dominant hybreds 20% or so. I don't trust some large farms do to what's going on within them. Would not surprise me a bit to know they spray scents, flavors prior to it going into dispensary. They've caught major growers lately inflating THC % and infusions like gummies and tinture. I've researched a few farms here in Oregon and i know who i would buy from at the dispensary trust worthy growers.

THC level is not an accurate indicator of effects. Low THC, under 10%, with the right mix of cannibinoids can produce far more desirable effects and unique effects that cannot currently be obtained with high THC strains. This is subjective but the evidence and my own experiences are pointing strongly to combinations of compounds for effect...more research required.
