Calendar says two weeks to go. This girl was unhappy on day 8 and I've tried everything (my newbie brain can think of) to fix her. Guy at the store says it's had too much of everything and suggests I just water sparingly "until it's over." Any ideas for additional hospice care? Trichomes continue to develop so I'm hoping for more time.

90Gizmo I've found that plants just don't give a shit about calendars. When they're done they're done . Keep watering and watch the trichs. til they hit your sweet spot.

I'm not experienced enough to have such wisdom so I add two weeks to what the catalogue says. Literally. Someone posted pics a few weeks ago and everyone told him it was spot on. I couldn't see any amber and thought it had a lot of clear... my eyes are that bad.Last edited by 90Gizmo; 11-12-2022, 05:00 PM.

Fully agree with Gingerbeard - it can be sad seeing all of your hard (and beautifully green) work turn yellow and red and sometimes purple, but that's just the cycle of the plant and is part of the process. They're done when they're done.
If you kept a journal for this grow, review it and check a few things - how was the watering regime? Too much, too little? What were nutrients like if you're doing synthetic nutes? If organic, did you do any topdressing/amending during the grow or add any teas? How were the temps/humidity and the lighting situation? If you see something that seems out of whack, remember that for your next grow. If it all looks correct, then it's probably just the way the plant behaves!
Growing is a journey and it's awesome that you're doing it and looking to learn more! Keep it up!Organic indoor grower - 4x4 tent - 2 Electric Sky 180v3s

I'm pretty sure it's the dirt. I built it early and let it sit. And forgot what was in it. First signs looked like over-watering and I paid a lot of attention to that. (So I don't think it's root rot.) But the soil was reading pH 7.5 or more and something seemed to be buffering it. One thing I never did was a super flush only regular 20% runoff. I watered with 5.5 and and that seemed to help during veg but I think overly fast growth was still a symptom. I didn't think the growth was too fast during training, I just thought it was doing good. But I did as soon as I stopped training and let the stems go up. The leaves started looking really bad the more it flowered.
The plant amazes me. Maybe the buds aren't fat but they do look rich. I expect a tasty harvest just not what it could have been. I'm encouraged to do a re-do and bought more seeds. (Twenty20 Trizzlers) and will make better soil.
I had a gallon of the soil and used it for half of one of the Whisky Zulu pots. My markings fell off but one of the WZ show faster growth as well so I think it was that one. The fast/tall growth is cool but not at the extent of health.
So talking it through I thing I should do a super flush on the Whisky Zulus. The Trizzlers is probably a week or two away from harvest, would a super flush hurt it at this point?
Confessions of a bad dirt builder.

90Gizmo you my friend are a much better soil/dirt builder than I any day of the week! I’ve grown in hydro for 10+ years with only occasional sidesteps into soil along the way. Every grow is a new show, different cast with different requirements and preferences. Growing is a continual learning process that the lucky NEVER tire of. ✌️Last edited by BU2B; 11-17-2022, 05:54 PM.
