Entering week 10, close to done?

Hello! This is my first grow. I was told a few more weeks to a month maybe 3-4 weeks ago. Well, it looks like there is quite a bit more amber on the calyx. It still looks like there are a very little clear. Some calyx, the older I am assuming, are even drying out (or got nute burnt). The main thing throwing me off is the amount of amber. I don't want to wait too long, and get it wrong.

Entering 10th week of flower, random bag seed.

Please take a look and let me know what you think!

I see a lot of amber. Can we see some pictures of the whole plant?

By my personal standards, you are good to go. I would harvest it. Nice pics!

I will get some pictures of the whole plants to post tomorrow. I unfortunately didn't think through the 12 hour schedule, and would have preferred 6PM-6AM on, vs. the current 6AM-6PM on. It has me shuffling when I get out of work at 5. Thanks you two for the responses.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I run on from 7pm to 7am. Get a quick check in the morning before I leave, and then I can't work in the room until after 7pm. It leaves a very small window when I have a lot to do.

          I also agree with OldManGrower.
          Still want them pics though.

More pics of the whole plant indeed. 10 weeks since you flipped to flower or 10weeks in total? A good rule of thumb is to wait until the fan leaves start turning yellow all over the plant. That's an indicator that the plant is using up all it's energy for one final push
I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.

To me, those pics are what should be next to the definition of 'harvest ready' when you look it up! They look perfect!

Of course, if you want a more sedated effect, let more of the trichomes turn amber but you're definitely in the harvest window.

Seeing more of the plant would be helpful, but in my experience, you don't get trichomes that look like that without everything else being in line. Plus, it's those trichomes that produce the effect since that's where all the cannabinoids are. When they start turning amber, they're higher in THC and CBN which is why you get more of a sedated effect with more amber-colored trichs.

Have a happy harvest and keep us posted!

For these two it is 10 weeks since I flipped to flower. They were germinated the first week of July. I will post pictures of the whole plants soon. I got back home from work late, so I couldn't open the tent (the third plant is two weeks behind the other two). Trust me when I say the close-ups are better than the whole actual plants, lol, but I do consider it a success because they didn't straight die on me. The fan leaves are fading/already faded and I've been picking them off when they got completely dried out, BUT I had an issue in flower with two of the three plants.

While the first two did well throughout flower, one of the two started fading early. I thought it was normal, however the third plant's (plant that is two weeks behind) leaves were being burnt/dying off early flower. I actually since then moved, and decided to test the ppm of my water since it's city water now (it was well water before); it came out 360, a tad high. Then I was like what the heck, let's see what the well water was at... 1100 ppm! lol. Pretty sure that is cause for the third plant's issues.

Something else that happened was one hermied (normal for bag seeds I read, but the manicure I did at first probably didn't help stress-wise). I actually found all the pollen sacs and picked them. I even picked all the seeds, which was fun. I was definitely determined.

Here you go. Like I said, no details really on genetics since they are bag seeds, and they are pretty skimpy, but I do consider my first attempt a success. Now to build on it. Remember, I was unknowingly watering with 1100 ppm water from a well through the entire grow, lol. The grow was in soil, with top dressings (organic). I am not sure the top dressing did much since the water was probably too much for the plants.

                    Congratulations on the achievement!
I hope you were able to learn some things that will make your next grow even more successful.
                    Cheers!

Nice job finishing your first run! Not sure if you keep notes, but I keep a journal and add notes pretty much every day. That's super helpful for going back to see what I did when different things happened, what stages the plants are at at what time (especially if you have known genetics and you do multiple runs of them). The more you grow, the more you know!

I do the same. I actually have a series of spreadsheets in a binder for things like a environment, equipment, watering, and a daily log. But I'm somewhat OCD, lol.
Though it has been quiet helpful as a reference more than once!

I actually have a notebook that I record all my actions taken, watering, trainings, transplants, stages, updates, mistakes (accidently topped an auto when I attempted to LS -- I didn't know the stem was that rigid already, lol!), among other things -- I use highlighters, and a key that identifies the purpose of the color, to help quickly find things. Going off the first grow, two things I could immediately improve on is soil (I got the wrong mixes as I don't think I put enough perlite for aeration) and water ppm.

While the photos were random bag seeds, I did get ahold of autos just to try (without needing the schedule). It was pitiful! I wish I had kept the pictures. They were literally a 6-8 inch stem with no branching. I now have six more photos (mazar, green crack, and girl scout cookies), and two more autos running. The autos are ending up light years ahead of the initial attempt; although, one is the accidental topping plant. I know autos are not ideal for new growers, but I can grow them with vegging photos so I plan to do two autos perpetually (at flowering start on two > popping two more, and so on).

This might sound weird, but medicine aside, growing the plants is actually a fun learning experience!

It could be worse. Northern Lights auto 4" high, 3.5 gram yield. I lost everything on my hard drive but I have a pic of the carcass too.
