So how many plants would you stick under my lights?!?

    Hello and thanks for reading!

Am currently redesigning my grow room to get the best out of the space ive got
And before i go too far i guess the first thing to decide on is how many plants do i wana stick in there!

So i guess the 2 deciding factors will be the lights i use and the amount of space i heve

My lights: 2 X KingBrite 480W Samsung LM301H mix Epistar 660nm +UV+IR Full Spectrum Led Grow Light (alibaba.com)
    My space: 1 m deep X 2.4 m long X 1.85 m high
Plants will be autos in 12 litre pots (either soil or coco) and topped and tied down to pot to open up branches

So how many plants would you do if you had my lights and space?!?
Am thinking 8 but is this too many for the lights / space i have?

This would give me 120w per plant if light at 100% but is this enough?
Seem to remember 75w per plant as a minimum but cant find where i read this!
Or was it 75w per square foot?!?

    All help gratefully received!

Based on your space, I would recommend 1 or 2 plants. This would allow you plenty of room for mainlining and LST.

    Hi herblover !
    Thanks for the reply

Yeah am thinking about topping the next lot so they would need more room to make it worth it
N less plants to look after is always a bonus!

What do you think about 4 in that space
Like to do as many as pos in case 1 dont make it!

Hey man10101 This is a 3ft x 3ft x 6ft tent with four, five-gallon fabric pots. You have way more than twice my space.
The depth of your tent, the shortest dimension is 1m. Split that in two and run it the length of your tent. There you have 2 nice rows to work with. Figure each plant needs .5m by .5m and you have some good spaces. By that, you can have 10 plants with one column being 1m x .4m.
My plants fit nicely in 18 inch x 18 inch spaces.

        Hi Gingerbeard !
        Thanks for the reply

        N nice photo!
Thats some healthy looking plants u got there
Did u use any training at all?

Ive actually got a grow finishing thats pretty much just as you suggested but got 8 instead of 10!
Got 4 under a light, humidifiers n heaters then another 4 under the other light all grown naturally with no training

They are quite cramped (jus like ur pic!) so thought about doing less on the next grow to give each plant more room for topping etc.

Wondering if i can match the yield from 8 plants that had no training by using less plants plus training!

I did two toppings and LST. If you haven't, check out the main GWE website. There is oodles of information on that thing.
Make sure you get plenty of circulation in your tent.

I'd say with the area and fixtures you have(I use the same one in my pheno tent), I would be happy with 8 plants in that room.
It'll be tight if everything gets going nicely, but that is what I would do.
I use 3.5 gal coco bags that I just DTW in a low-tide tray(makes it really easy to clean up)

                Hi gbauto !
                Thanks for the reply

So ur using the same light as me
What do you think of it?

My last light was a "burple" led so not got anything to compare them to
                But definitely cant complain!
Only needing to run them both at 65%

Actually got 8 jus finishing this / next week in there at the mo
And yes it is a bit cramped!

Jus getting ready for the next grow and was thinking bout doing another 8 but thought it worth asking what everyone else would do
Want to make the most out of what i have n not do too many / too few plants
So far 8 seems to be the way to go

                Thanks again for your reply!

What I found that worked best for me was to keep the fixture at 20" above the canopy, and adjust power output to keep the par value I'm trying to achieve for that stage of the grow.
When I flip to flower, they get turned up to max output.
I use small fans to promote airflow in the tent, which keeps the plants moving as well as airflow over the fixture.

Ha! Ive got my leds at 20" too!
n yeah use dimmer and light meters to make sure output is right
first time ive had a dimmer to play with, awesome touch
doing autos so no flip tho!
                    theyre on constant 20/4
got to say i am impressed with these leds especially as theyre off alibaba!

believe it or not thats pretty much what i did to get to 8...
had 10 plants under 2 lights...
                        was too cramped...
                        removed 1 from each light...
                        now got 8!
