    Flowering Week 7 Day 1: 30 April 2022

We’re getting closer folks. Just about two weeks to go. I am seriously considering leaving Suzie 2 to flower for another week or so. Her buds are super sticky and oily but her buds are pretty small. I’d rather have a little really good bud than I would a lot of flowers that weren’t very strong. As mentioned before, if nothing else she will make a lot of oil.

About this time in the grow I feel like George C. Scott in Firestarter - “Oh I’m gonna kill her but I want to wait until she’s at the height of her power”. I’m pretty sure that’s not a quote, but you get the gist of it.

My buds are getting just a little fatter and stacking more each day now! Nothing like BU2B but gaining. He says 2 weeks but I'm behind that at 4 to 5 more. I won't quit until they are as heavy as possible. I will admit there is no contest with size and weight but taste will tell the difference in quality. Pic is with ambient light and flash. Note the myriad of small buds down low. With the spread I've done they are all getting good light so should fatten well. Top buds are stacking and fattening!

the projection was to be done with the grow by May 8
at least an additional week from the original estimate is needed
as of today the grow is over 90% complete
note: if the germinating and starting was my usual 3 days instead of 10, the grow would be right on schedule

The Purple Bubba is getting purple
It was pointed out to me that there is some light burn on leaf tips, I have to confess, I put that light burn there on purpose - just for the photo

10 days of finishing starts: 2 May 2022

The girls start their Finishing Program tomorrow. Fresh tubs of ph balanced water with Signal Terpene Support and Flawless Finish will be the mainstay of their power building, waist slimming regimen for the remainder of their days. Ahhh the final countdown... I love growing!

Lucky number thirteen: 3 May 2022

With any luck, thirteen more posts and the journal is over for me. There are twelve days left till harvest (15 May) and I’ll post one picture or make one post per day for the next twelve days. Post number 13 will be the final weight of buds and sugar leaf. The girls are both filling in nicely and at this point are happy and healthy.
Here are Suzie 2 & Hazel 12 days from harvest.

            Yo-Yo Time: 7 May 2022

When the lights came on today I found a branch all bent over on Hazel. She's gotten too big for her britches! The first rescue attempt was to tape the branch... an hour later it was laying down again, so I had to dig out the yo-yo's and string her up. In the process of doing so I found two small buds that were being beaten up pretty badly by the fan - those are now samplers and I'll give those a tase in the next few days. They won't be cured, but it should give me a heads up on potency. If smell is any teller these two are going to be some fine smoke. Below are a few photo's from today's escapades:

I thought you would've needed yoyos for those couple of fatties in back. Beautiful buds. Will some billionaire ever invent smell-o-vision?

Not fair! An early sample in a few days! LOL I still have about 4 weeks to go due to stress earlier on the poor girl! No comparison to BU2B's but she has made a great comeback from near death! I think she is a very good looking lady! She consumes a half gallon of water every day now. No feed other than teas. No pH checking ever! Minerals and organics in the teas. I love growing this way. Living soil rocks!

I have to do that so I know which end is up! I think you should try another soil grow. I'll give you 2
5 gal bags of my ready mix soil. Just add plant and water! Lots of water! Think of it as hydro in a stable medium!

              Closing Thoughts: 9 May 2022

Well folks, this grow and this journal is rapidly coming to close for me. TOKABIGONE has a few weeks to go yet. When we're both all done we will be getting together for an oil making session as we enjoy our wares.

First and foremost, Thank YOU for following along for the ride. It has been a bit bumpy at times but we are on the downhill stretch for sure. As of yesterday all days are above and beyond the projected 122 days for the grow. Which means for me, that translates into 128 days total. I'll keep posting at least one pic a day until harvest and then it will be a few weeks before I report back with a total weight and close out the journal from my end.

Don't forget that the updated BU2B's PPP Method will be available HERE on the 15th.

Before I finish up and finish out with grow journals on GWE there are a few things I'd be remiss not to mention:
              • There's always enough blame to go around so be careful of pointing fingers
              • Good people are easy to find, just follow the smoke
              • Do all you can, give all you can, it's usually more than what you think you have
              • Not everyone is doing their best, but they are doing the best they know how to
              • Avoid selfishness and selfish people, you'll never be able to take or give enough and you’ll wear yourself out trying (like hungry ghosts)
              • There's a fine line between help and enabling
              • Politics and Religion are generally only different methods of achieving the same goal
              • Imagine all the people, sharing all the world
              • This side and that one
                I go in between
                Let go of dead weight
                Roam and be free
                Grow old and stay young
                That's how we live
                Some they are taking
                But we've come to give
                All in due time
Thanks for the company on the ride my friends... be good to each other

Looking fine as usual, any guess on what the final weight will be? Maybe we should start a pool on it (more specific that 1 lb) .

I’m open for a pool. I don’t really have a prize for the winner, but by all means please post your prognostications. Ideally it would be 1.5 lbs as it’s 1.5 plants. My personal projection is still the one I gave in post #122 - 728 grams dried and cured combined weight for flowers and sugarleaf. Leaves will be trimmed and ONLY frosty bits saved for oil.
Originally posted by BU2B View Post

                  • 32 flowering branches (Hazel)
                  • 24 flowering branches (Suzie 2)
                  • Every two flowering branches with 6+ inches of total bud packets will weigh about 26 grams dried and cured
                  • 56 flowering branches divided by 2 = 28
                  • 28 x 26 = 728 grams dried and cured
                  • 728 divided by 28 (grams per oz) = 26 ounces or 1.625 lbs total
This estimate is if everything goes perfectly up until harvest. I don’t know if I’ll make it but I’m aiming HIGH

This is one branch on Hazel. Full length of my palm from pinky to thumb 21.59cm (8.5")
There are 32 branches total for Hazel each totaling at least 21.59cm of bud packets per branch
Suzie 2 only has 24 flowering branches but those are up to 50cm long; with again, at least 21.59cm of bud packets per branch.
For Suzie 2 the buds are much smaller but are also much denser than those on Hazel and her leaves are coated at least 50% of their length with a good frosting of snow and VERY sticky.
