    Bummer City

I have attached a photo of my grow after 10 days.

One decent looking Northern Lights Auto, one scraggly White Widow Auto, one Amnesia Haze Auto that refuses to come out of its shell and a Black Thai and Super Skunk Auto that won't pop.

I have followed Nebula's Bubbletronics set-up to a T. I have a 4x4x7 grow tent, a 600 w MH light dimmed to 50% and about 3' above plants, heat and humidity steady at 70/70. Water PH is 6.1 with recommended GH nutes, Hydroguard and Mag.

I'm really bumming out because I've tried to do everything right and I'm not getting good results.

I really appreciate the GWE site and forum. Any suggestions?

PS The stainless bowl is starting the same seeds for another try.

Dude, that white widow looks stretched out......I don't use mh lights but 36" at 50% power might not be enough.....check on GWE but i think the furthest a 600w mh lamp should be away is 25" and i think that is at full whack dude......also don't get bummed out dude......it's all part of the game......live and learn dudeπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ hope this helps.
The more I know, the better I grow.

To coin a phrase" Idontknownuthing" about hydro but... I do know that if was me I'd park a 150 watt CFL about 4" over top of each one. The heat generated is perfect to make the little darlins want to pop up take a peek see where that blinding ass light is coming from. Works every time for me. I would leave them under close CFL til they got a couple of healthy nodes going on.

She might stand back up. Do you have a fan moving them ? The plant will stretch toward the light. Good growing !!

a 600W should be 25" away maximum at full power.
a 250W should be 14" away maximum at
so with a 600W @ 50% power you shouldn't be much more than probably 15" away maximum. Bring that light way down. Or turn it up to 100% and drop it down 10 inches or so

I keep my pH at 5.6 from seed to harvest. Maybe try lowering the pH a bit. Also, what's the water temp in the reservoir? It should be right around 68 degrees. Idk if these suggestions will help, but it's two things you can try out.

Ive never grown with MH before, so unfortunately I can't provide any advice there.

Make a splint for that white widow. With a little support, she may end up straightening out. Give the amnesia haze a little more time. If her cotyledons don't pop out of the seed coat, you can try to GENTLY pry it off with tweezers.

Dood, you're going to have a lot of plants. I think Primo and Vapo are on the right track, not enough light.

Are you sprouting those seeds in your reservoir with it running? They might be too cold and wet.

I have had good success with rapid rooters, but not too wet. Either use them straight out of a freshly opened pack, or dunk them in pH'd water and squeeze them out so that they don't drip when you hold them. Then put them in a humidity dome (I like using a rotisserie chicken container from Costco), on a warming pad WITH A THERMOSTAT (or they will get cooked to shit) or as Primo suggested, a CFL real close. That will also save you a bunch on power bill until the plants are big enough to appreciate that nice light you got.
Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.

I start my seeds in rapid rooters nestled directly in hydroton. I push my seeds down about halfway into the rapid rooter. I keep my reservoir level high enough to touch the bottom of the rapid rooter (RO water pH'd to 5.6-5.7 at 65-68 degrees). My germination rate is well over 90% with this method.

Check out the link I posted. I was lucky enough to find it a few years ago.

I tried the 600watt MH on my newbees just germed and they could only take the 250MH, at first, then400, and then 600....They are to young in my belief to handle the high wattage at first....

Thanks to all of you. I really appreciate the advice. I'll give it a try and keep you updated.
