for journal, is Official Day One 'germination' or 'appearance of sprout in soil'?

My counting goes like this :
1st phase : Seeds in rooters place in humidity dome - until cotyledons appear. (germination)
2nd phase : 5-7 days after the seed is in the rooter (sprout)
3rd phase : Move the rooters to final pot (Plant is now growing so it would initiate Veg cycle)
I count the total of the above phases as the Veg cycle but keep them brackets in the back of my head..
4th phase : Training - Manifolding - Arranging Stems/Tops (Weeks 2-4)
5th phase : Witnessing - Defoliation - Arranging/Removing Growth ( Last week of Veg "When the plant is 50% the desired height - flip the switch" )
6th phase : Initiating Flowering ( 72hours of total darkness to induce flowering)
7th phase : 12/12 is on - Deal with whatever comes and enjoy witnessing a girl become a lady
Im up to this phase until now so thats all i can share!!Hope it helps bobby boyTent : 4x4

you rock, man, as usual.... so for you day one is the day they go into germination, correct?
and to be clear, i'm just tryna find out "what most people do" so i can fill in my journal that i really REALLY need to get caught up on...finally got some life happenin' over here Nartak , and i wanna share it...."i try to play the ball not the opponent."--Roger Federer

In my experience day 1 is the day the sprout got hold of the ground and the cotyledons open. First few days is a seedling. And within the first week the seedling is busy doin roots and enters the vegetative phase with accelerated growth. Then when you changes the light schedule is flowering day 1. Autos are the exception you start counting from day one till harvest.

9fingerleafs , thank you for this!
everything else seems pretty standardized, i.e., flowering stage is always when one flips, no matter what, etc.,
but what day is OFFICIALLY day one? not so much, at least in what i've read...

You will probably get different answers based on flowering type and medium used to grow. Personally, I count day one as the day i put my germinated seed in the soil.Current grow: http://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum/...could-2nd-grow

thank you, Budlofsky's Dinner ...from what feedback i have gotten, it's merely personal preference...i guess we'll see when/if more people chime in...thanks again

My take on day one in veg: once the plant starts using the very first - single blade leaf- to begin photosynthesis.
As mentioned above, there are many ways to document day 1 in veg- all the way until the cotyledons die off. It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

thanks, Weed Pharma yep, it's looking as if it is merely personal preference...
that's kinda unfort tho cuz makes it hard to compare apples to apples across grows....oh well.

thanks Green75 and rockman 'preciate the feedback....
and also to everyone else who replied, tried to thank each of you individually but if i missed anyone, sorry...
i think i've decided since the consensus *seems* to be purely personal preference, ima choose whichever one makes me look better as a newbie grower ...LOL"i try to play the ball not the opponent."--Roger Federer

what they do clearly IS a matter of personal preference...now whether that accords with "the facts" is another matter...
