Cannabis, Weed, Marijuana Memorabilia or Keepsakes

Another thread made me think of this...show off any Cannabis related memorabilia, keepsake, signed stuff. Who's got an old Cannabis Cup ticket? Signed stuff from a breeder? Photo of you and Tommy Chong?
**Please try and keep it Cannabis related** If you think some people may not know the cannabis significance of your post, give us the story. With any luck we'll all get to see some cool stuff.

I'll start by posting the signature from my signed copy of Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook (Link to his website https://www.edrosenthal.com/ )
and I met the Trailer Park Boys...

I was thinking of old High Times magazines too, I bet that there are some crazy (crazy now that we look back at them) ads and photos in some of those old magazines.

This came in a case of papers from about 1984. I started to buy them by the case because they became hard to find. They seem like very small papers now.

That's interesting...the guy on the pack is reading a scientific journal.

Had this hand me down book from a long lost friend for close to thirty years, I still reference it from time to time.

Oh man, this is cool to see...Mel and Ed teamed up to start things way back when...this is the original work. Cool to have one. Is there a copyright date inside that baby? I used to have a book signed by Mel but I lent it to a friend who lent it to a friend, it's gone. Still pissed at myself for lending it out. You're lucky to have this.

Original copyright of the book is 1974 this is the sixteenth pressing dated May 1980 with a sticker price of $4.95. Book is complete and still has the order form for the Clearlight catalog. I have a lot of history with this book and is the Source behind my first successful indoor harvest.

Interesting..$4.95, LOL. So cool...I had to Google Sister Marie Louise Tibeau. Couldn't find much info on her though, like none. Ed has dedicated other books to her as well. Reminds me, I think I may have a few other old books. I'll have to see if I can find them....

Hey Mr.furley ! I've got the same book! I got mine around 1984 in college. I paid $5.95. Its not the original, my copy says "revised", but the copyright date says 1974. I knew I recognized it when you showed yours.

There was a book in the late '60s by (just) Rosenthal. It was printed on newsprint paper, the cover was like kraft paper (standard grocery bag paper). The only thing I remember from the book was differentiating male/female plants. And a bogus statement by Rosenthal. He wrote: "don't smoke tobacco around your plants, they don't like that."

I mean, give me a break. What scientific evidence do you have to back that up? There is this perception of anthropomorphism when some people discuss plants and animals. I.e., "suggesting that non-human things have human traits, emotions, and intentions" (Wiki quote). Do autos need an hour of darkness, an hour or 4 of "rest", like people? Is there any scientific evidence they do? Maybe the cannabis plants like tobacco smoke, who knows (I kind of think not, but opinion doesn't matter here). Is the COVID virus determined to kill us all? You'd imagine the virus thinks like that. I do.

I remember I had one after I got married in 1982 because my wife was paranoid about me leaving out in the open. Can't remember what happened to it.

yeah it was a forbidden text, like Lovecraft's Necronomicon. I bought the book at a co-op run by hippies near the University of Wisconsin. Couldn't find it at Barnes & Noble, which didn't exist anyway. Co-op was the only place you could get cheap rolling papers, remembering 25 cents a pack. Dannon yogurt, which we lived on, was 17c. Back then buy a book like that you are sneaking around with it like it was porn from Denmark. Hey! You got your ZAP comics??!!

I don't have anything old like you guys, but I did acquire this about 2 years ago. I've never actually used it (it does work), but it's a pipe and coffee cup in one. I bought it as more of a conversation piece. There was 3 different ones but this is the only one I managed to get before the pandemic happened and shut down the inside of the cigarette shop. They still have a drive thru, but I don't really want to have them shown to me through the window. It's legal here so I don't care about that, I just would rather look at them through the glass display case and make a decision instead of holding up the line. Eventually I'll get the others as well, but it may be a little while. Some of you who like a nice cup of coffee for an appropriate wake and bake, may look into these. It's not old, but definitely weed related so I thought I'd share.

Yeah I couldn't resist when I saw it. I wish I would have had the money at the time to get the others too. Hopefully they still have them or I'll have to find them online somewhere.

I do have a few old High Times Magazines..,I dug them out. Not very old. This one is from September 1998. Remember the ads for the Phototron? I saw this ad in Playboy too, back in the day when I was reading the articles The best model provides 18,900 Lumens.....LOL Glad I didn't buy one. And what was up with those old ads for legal weed?? It wasn't pot they were selling. What the heck was it?

A pre release, when Barney's was testing this strain, I never grew it out, the pack is still sealed. I'm sure I'll never get to it. One consideration, since this is marked LAB strain, you dont know if this is Barneys released product, i.e., I don't know if this was what they went with.

Memorabilia for sure @PeterMatanzas...they must be very rare. I received a sample at a cannabis trade show one time. Not a lab or testing strain but a sample Dinafem OG Kush seed. I grew it out. Maybe I should have kept it. Dinafem is in a bit of trouble now. I bet you have a lot of this type of stuff. Your signed DJ Short seed pack made me think of this thread.

I don’t have much any more, Jeff. I felt it reached a point where I had to ask myself “how many seeds am I going to grow out each year?” Typically two indoor grows of 16 plants, maybe 25 outdoor. I know I’ll also want to grow a seed I don’t own now. Somebody might ask me to join a test group (probably wouldn’t tho), What about the hundreds of seeds from my own grows? So I give away a lot. I wish I could put all of my worldly possessions in just a backpack.

Ya, I know what you mean PeterMatanzas I ask myself that "how many more X do I need" question more and more with certain things. It's good to have an abundance in that what we love the most. I'm pretty good with seeds though. If I have 10 or so waiting to be grown I'm good.
