    COCO COIR Lower bud sites

Was thinking about getting rid of these lower bud sites, during flower. Wanting to pinch off these small ones so it doesn’t waiste energy. These plants are gonna take longer to flower and they still haven’t quite been budding good since switch. Im being patient and these are sativa im sure. Probably got another 4-6 weeks.

I purposely leave some of those little ones around the bottom and cut them off around weeks 7-9 of flower along with about 90% of the remaining fan leaves. This does two things one it seems to make the buds do a last surge of growth as they ripen and two gets my damn kids off my back asking for samples lol I did this on my current grow and they ended up with just over two zips of larfy little buds from the size of the end of your pinky finger to the end of your thumb by waiting until that late in flower the trichomes are mostly cloudy the kids like it

It looks like a lot of spacing between buds there, and not a huge canopy? I can't see the whole thing but that's how it looks to me from those pictures. Personally I'd keep them, they'll add at least a few grams to your final weight. It sucks to trim them when they're really small but every little bit helps IMO. There's been a few of my grows that I had nothing but small, larfy buds but it came out good so it got smoked. Really personal preference there. If you leave them, you keep your yields. If you remove them, the rest of the buds will get bigger but it may not increase yields, it may actually decrease them a little. You just have to weigh the pros and cons and decide for yourself. Hope that helps

Looking at the plant I would probably leave them on as it doesn’t look like a heavy yield. If she’s a sativa she could have ages yet so they’ll get a bit bigger and increase your yield. I would invest in a good light when you can afford it. It’ll make huge difference to your buds

Yes the plants look like they have been light starved and in a potentially cooler setting than they need. That would explain the slow growth and stringy - airy look to them. What are your grow specs?

I wouldn't clip anything. Try moving your lights closer and see what happens over a few days. More info would help us determine if you can get them current buds fatter!!
I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.

Those are just the bottom sites that aren’t getting much light. One of my plants is 4ft tall so i got my lights at the right position, it is a sativa. As for the upper sites and main colas they are looking pretty good. Im running 450w true power because of my tent size which is 3x3x5. Everything is dialed in good, its been a lil more humid than what i want but its working fine. Temps usually stay from 27c to 22c at night. Most of my top colas are 4-5 in long, but i think the lower sites aren’t worth the energy and time to cut and harvest. Im not going for yield right now because i have 4 others in veg right behind them, im going for more dense buds up top
