I think I trim just a tiny bit closer than you, haven't had any complaints. But then again they get the shit free they better not complain lol all funny aside I don't sell my weed so why cut off good stuff doesn't make sense to me.
Nice plant and photo ready buds

Looks great! Nice neat job. That weed looks damn fine in that jar. What are you doing with the IR temp. gun? Monitoring the jar temperatures as they cure?

If You loose a lot of trichomes during trimming the bud is too dry and you are not being careful enough. Trimming is easy, what's hard is drying the bud properly after a wey trim. Try both, wey trim a few colas and leaves other with leaves and trim after you Jared and the moisture is even, see what behsves better ,what smells better, wich one trastes better

This is probably the most concerning comment on this very interesting thread. I plan to have my first harvest some time in the next 3 or 4 weeks so this question of wet vs dry is on my mind. As a professional veteran grower, what do you think about losing way more trichomes when trimming dry? Also, in your opinion, is it significantly more difficult for a beginner to trim dry bud? Thanks for your input!

Is that your final trim? A lot of leaf still on there

MrPNW I've never saved any trimmed off material because I try not to remove anything with trichomes.
No photogenic manicure, I rough trim, dry in the pot, then jar.

Yes and yes..i usually have a few big leaves with little to no trichs on them. Then the sugar leaves, sticking straight out, but have some trichs on them(this goes into trim bag for bubble hash or butter) The next trim is tight and to shape the final bud. The close trimming is the good stuff. When you need to scrape the goop off your clipper blades. i turn that into bubble hash. happy trimming

Good luck trimming. By the look of them buds it's going to be fun & sticky for sure...Like 'dem buds are...fat & sticky!! Delicious. Great work, wow! Scrape the sticky off of the trimming scissors every once in a while...it smokes like hash Good way to get a bit of an early sample. Btw, thanks for running the poll. I thought it'd be a lot closer.

Good luck with your harvest, might be more sticky than fun!

Is larfy the large fan leaves? If those have been removed a little at a time over weeks. I have none left now.
Are sugar leaves the smaller ones covered in trichs that stick straight out?
What is the good stuff? Once all the leaves are cut off what’s left to trim?

I’m starting to harvest some branches this weekend.

quirk Did you do any defoliating prior to this? It doesn’t look like it.

quirk I like the idea of doing it with the plant in the pot.
Do you use the cut off material for anything else? Hash (dry ice per GWE), dry out and vape or smoke, edibles, butter, etc.?

    It’s Friday!

Looks like I’m going with wet trim. This ought to be fun, or sticky.
