    Timing an Outdoor grow

Looking for some opinions, This would be for Northeast US, in this part of the country, let's just say you wouldn't plant your tomatoes outside until the Middle or end of may. The Equinox is what like March 20th so the hours are still getting longer up until like June 20th.

So my question, if I was going to start some feminized girls indoors and planning to put them outdoors come the end of may, how far along should I be.
I would imagine that I would still be in a strong veg growth at least for a while.

And then, would I give them till October, then bring them in for the final 12/12???

Anyone with some tips and experience with outdoor grows inthe cooler to colder climate zones?

    Thanks for any comments.

To simplify everything. You could just use autoflower seeds for your outdoor grow and not have to worry about when you plant them, beside it being too cold, autos would entirely eliminate the need for waiting for the equinox. In case of the temp drops low you can always use a molasses foliage spray, should help them with the colder days. I hope everything works out for you.

Hi Lotusyde We tried an an autoflower outside this winter. We planted a Bubbleicious Auto in October and harvested in early January. This was in SoCal so it was still sunny during the daytime and cold temps weren't really an issue but ultimately the days were too short. Unfortunately the plant never really took off and was basically a waste. I do think we can get three outdoor auto grows into a year if we plant the first one in March.

I believe if you plant every 30 days you can get at least 6+ harvests out of it. One harvest a month roughly. Start some new plants when your first batch are 25-30 days in maybe?

I'm personally interested in planting new seeds every 3-4 weeks and having a harvest once or twice a month if possible for me.

All this being said 3 harvests sounds very reasonable and doable.

The plants will go to flower around 6/20. Soon as days start getting shorter. after 6/20 won't do any good to change lighting unless you want to extend hours for longer veg. Where I live I can put my plants outdoors in March most years. I have found that March planting is too early. the plants become very bushy and unmanageable and after being in the ground for 6 months or more they are very old and harder to keep them healthy. Plants that are outdoors till 12/12 hours need to stay out unless to protect from cold or you want to speed flower by reducing light quicker but I wouldn't recommend this.

If you are not trying to attain a very large yield and you have indoor lights you can plant any time before mid june and get good results. Early planting is more about yield than flower time.

I'm waiting until the amount of darkness is 12 hrs and becoming less & less.
It comes out to be around April 15th in Northern New England.
I plan on doing a window sill grow at that time.
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

I would give them a couple of weeks head start, that said growing outside it would stay in veg. Till shorter light cycle occurs sept. around here! I can't see bringing them in to finish if all goes right thay will be huge,

        Outdoor Growers, ASSEMBLE!!!!!

I'm located towards the south eastern part of the US, and spring cant come soon enough, although I've noticed some of the trees starting to bud prematurely. Any who, I plan on germinating in some solo cups( using rapid rooters) and I'll probably purchase a couple of CFL's just to get them out of their shells. After that, I'll move them outside and try to slowly give them more and more sun. The warden (My wife) gave me the OK to purchase a little greenhouse for the back. I've been trying to guesstimate which part of the yard gets at least 8+ hrs of direct sunlight, but it's kinda hard trying to figure that out around this time of year. Long story short, I'm shooting to have my plants outside my mid or late April.

        Best of Luck
