    HYDRO Plant Issue

    Hi All,

I need help ID'ing some nute issues on my Tangerine Dream & Gorilla Breath. Please see below:

    Tangerine Dream Gorilla Breath
    12/3/20 (fresh reservoir) EC 2.5 pH 6.0 EC 2.2 pH 6.0
    12/4/20 EC 2.1 pH 6.5 lowered pH to 6.0 EC 2.3 pH 6.5 lowered pH to 6.0
    12/5/20 EC 1.9 pH 6.9 lowered pH to 6.0 EC 2.2 pH 6.6
    lowered pH to 5.9
    12/6/20 EC 1.9 pH 6.5 lowered pH to 6.3 EC 2.0 pH 6.3 lowered pH to 6.0
    12/7/20 EC 2.1 pH 5.8 EC 1.9 pH 6.4 lowered pH to 6.0
First plant: Tangerine Dream (photos 1-2)
New growth has interveinal yellowing and leaf tips that are pale and sometimes curled. Leaves darken as they age but retain some of their interveinal yellowing.

Second plant: Gorilla Breath (photos 3-5)
New growth has interveinal yellowing and leaf tips that are pale and sometimes curled. Leaves darken as they age but retain some of their interveinal yellowing. I’m also seeing red stems.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

Looks like it needs a little bit of iron to me, not a bad case but can definitely get worse if you don't address it

yeah, looks like iron to me too but pH is in range and nute regimen should be good. maybe cold, dry weather is causing it?

Lower EC to 1,5 and keep below 2

Jack's 3-2-1. weather has been cold and dry, so perhaps that is causing an iron issue?

When adjusting pH from a high value, I would bring it down to 5.6-5.7 instead of stopping at 6.

Howdy sweeper91, What gbauto said, what are You feeding the plants and under what conditions? Over all, by the photos posted, the plants do not look too bad to me.

Jack's 3-2-1, humidity sometimes drops down to high 30s, low 40s but is in range for most part. weather has been pretty cold but i don't think temp is an issue either.

        Hi All, I'm using Jack's 3-2-1 formula. RH 45-55% and temps 65-75 F
It does look like a slight iron issue to my eye...

          Looks like copper deficiency.
          https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabi...per-deficiency

          Hope they recover soon. 👍

And as RetiredGuy said, when adjusting pH down, go a little lower than your targeted level. The pH will tend to bounce up after a few hours. Mine will jump up from a lowered 5.5 to 5.9-6.1 overnight.

          Cheers

There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
          1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
          2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
          3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)

The ec you're running is a bit higher than what I normally see using 3-2-1.
What is the ec of your water?
Also, are you using HID or led lighting?
It makes a difference in optimum room temps.
Overall, I'm not seeing much to be worried about.
If the Fe shows up as deficient, I'd look at a Mulder chart for possible nute lock-out because of an excess of other nutes.

Recommended EC is 2.4 that's based on a test of my water I ran through Jack's. I tried that EC but kept dropping fast so I upped it to 2.5-2.6. Those figures include my tap EC which is .3
i'm using qb's. fighting cold temps, but i'm not gonna run a heater bc that's too much electricity
not quite sure what to do. common solution is to get ph in range but I've done that and don't notice a recovery in the plants
