Can I wash my buds prior to harvest?

Can I wash my buds prior to drying? They have been growing outdoors and have a lot of "dirt" on them, I have been washing them regularly because of the ash we have had from our fires, but now I am getting close to harvesting and am wondering if I can wash again before I cut them or am I just opening up a possible mold problem?
The weather here has been more than 100 degrees the last few weeks so I felt that they would dry out completely, but now the season is changing and it is a little overcast and in the 70's for the next week or so... rarely does it rain here, has not since April and it is not going to anytime soon.

I would just strip the fan leaves when you chop and then hose them down.
Just make sure it's a nice sunny, dry day to get them to dry as quickly as they can.
    WHAT???

Bring them on over i give them a shower LOL. Mine have smoke, ash and other particles from fires where i live. I shake the shit out of them when i harvest trim most the leaf off outdoors, shake them upside down. I combust little tiny things that don't crawl out when i lay them on my counter for wet trim then hang. yep i live in a " dirty world " and i grow for our own consumption. Great looking plants for sure you got there. Enjoy

I've posted this link for a few others. Done it myself. No problems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDgd5lhMRvw

Yes, Jorge Cervantes has a few good articles and videos about it. He essentially uses 5 gallon buckets to dip the branches after they have been cut off.
