After spending ~$1000 over 4 years of growing(still a rookie, though), I still haven't bought a magnifier. I was looking for advice.

I bought a loupe it has LED and UV light on it the LED is good at getting some light into the bud when looking at tric it was £20 off amazon. I did buy a usb microscope but sent it back it was hard to keep it steady in focus plus had to download an app that took a few times to get started and wasnt really impressed. Sometimes simple options the better one.

Farmbuck That is the magnifier I said I couldn't use. Way too powerful.

Gingerbeard my vision is really terrible in count of my severe diabetes so at 60X i'm able to see the little mushrooms inside head to determine if they are cloudy etc..

I've been looking at this one. With a power of 60-120, is it very necessary to hold it steady to get a clear viewing?

I think it depends on the person’s eyes 😁. I can see al clearly with a 10x magnifying.

CaptainWiese91, you have good eyes. I also use mine for when I get bugs.

Yea but I was referring to you wrote if you want to look at trichomes you need at least 50x.
Why I was writing it depends on the person’s eyes

I got one of these: https://belomostore.com/belomo-15x-loupe.html I bought a wi-fi microscope which works OK and takes nice pictures, but of course you can't hold it steady. You can put it on a stack of books or something, but the plants are hard to move now with colas hanging out everywhere. With the loupe I can easily check out any bud I want to...
