HELP! did my plants bolt or is this normal

Newbie gardener and grower here. I noticed a few weeks ago that my ‘buddies‘ appear to be bolting. the plants are roughly 4.5’ tall, very thin stem and bunches of what I assumed were seed pods, and leaves that are very sparse. last week I noticed that some of the seed pods appear to have opened but it looks like what dried bud looks like. wishing this time frame, they were fed with a mix of big bloom and grow big (mixed with a gallon of water).

the buddies were started indoors (windowsill) then moved outdoors in a partially shady area in my veggie garden. I potted them in a mix of garden soil and compost (like the rest of my garden).

Did the fert mix screw then up? Or did they bolt due to the heat?

Any tips?

That’s a male... we are aware of this? I’m pretty high..... so I could just be not understanding what you are asking. I saw bug dmg as well and some burning. The leaves are weird

the leaves are weird because what would normally be packed with buds are not packed with buds, leaving only the leaves Boy plant cooties.

Males bolting like crazy.

I dont know if cannabis can bolt. This just looks similar to other plants in my garden that did. This year I planted a shit load of bok choy in my veggie garden. In a matter of day they all bolted.

Bolting in plants is mostly caused by heat, a plant that bolts has stopped focusing on vegetative growth and is trying to create flowers, pollen, and seeds, so essentially the flowering stretch is a bolt. Both male and female cannabis will stretch for flowing.

You can always collect the pollen from it and you can rub some on just a couple buds next year for some free seeds. They will be regular seeds but free ones. I've never stored it so I couldn't tell you how, I know you freeze it but someone else would have to explain the details

Go online to a seed bank. I use Nirvana and seedsman. Both very reputable companies very discreet. Get feminized seeds so you know they will be female. Did similar my first grow and pollinated the girls I did have.

I have some seed bank seeds just having planted them yet. I’ll check into nirvana, I ordered from seedsman. Thanks for the pollinating tip, didn’t think to try that
